Title: Cam'ron speaks on Dipset distribution, making of "Salute"
Post by: The-Leak (aka) kingwell (bka) JULES on August 09, 2010, 08:54:56 PM
http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/549384/camron-says-eight-nine-songs-done-with-the-reunited-diplomats.jhtml

A spaceship landed, and Jim Jones popped out that muthafucka to record the track.  Epic.

As a group id agree with that, the production carried them most of the times.

It's all a matter of preference, i'm definitely not one of those people that considers Cam a top rapper in the game, but I've always just checked for his shit cause I like his compound rhyming style, and he always has great production.

Although I know Cam is not a good emcee, I totally understand the love for the group. Not many groups had as much a dominating run as they did, at least on the East Coast scene post-2000.

I'd agree that production carried them a lot (Heatmakerz probably made about 20-30 superb beats which formed their whole sound) but what they lack in lyrical ability they make up for in energy, humour and their group synergy.

what do you mean by "make some of the wackest music ever". music is preference, what does it lack or have that you do not like. please elaborate on that statement.

To me listening to Dipset is like listening to West Coast rap.  You know it goes against what you're about,  but it's fun and sounds good.

Dipset work as a group.  But as far as solo shit.

Jim Jones:  Always trash.  Ballin excluded, that's a classic forever.

Juelz: Only album shit, he brings his A-Game on his albums.

Cam'ron: Works in groups and on solo shit.  And say what you will about his subject content nowadays, he still is quite lyrical.  Def the best of the group.
