Why haven't these two done much together? Too Short said in an interview that he'd love to work with Dr. Dre and he was the only big name he hasn't done a track with. He said he'd really like to record some tracks with him and hit the studio. However, Too Short must have forgot about the track "Game Over" from Scarface's album which has Face, Dre, Short, and Cube all together on a banger. Too Short also gave Dr. Dre a shoutout on his "Blow The Whistle" cut. Why haven't these two cats done much together when Too Short is one of the best rappers of all time and has worked with everyone from Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, E-40, Twista, and the old Death Row camp to everyone out East and the Dirty? I think it would be dope if Dre produced a whole album for Short Dogg but that's on the level of dreaming.

It is a little weird, being that Short has been a west coast vet for so long, and never got blessed with a Dre beat. Would be interesting.
-
Cube & DJ Quik can be put in this category as well.
-
Jus cuz they vets doesnt mean they need 2 work 2gether...would short sound good on a dre beat?
-

Quik & Dre did the track "Put it On Me", dope song 8)

Hell yes he would
-
Damn, never thought of this. I wish I could have asked him about this when I saw him this week.
-
I think Short's flow would sound dope over Dre beats. Dre makes those laid-back hypnotic beats with the drums and base, I could listen to a whole album Short album produced by Dre but that would be too good to be true. I like how Snoop, 40, and Short are all workin together and puttin out bomb music, all they need to do is get Dre, Cube, and Quik back in the mix and start pumpin out hit records and shake the rap game when it's vulnerable.

Too Short also gave Dr. Dre a shoutout on his "Blow The Whistle" cut.
no he didn't

"Do you really wanna be like me? / Spit game like Snoop and T.I.P / Pretty girls in the V.I.P. / They came with Dre, they don't need I.D./ Blow the Whistle"

Always thought he was talkin bout mac dre...didnt mac dre spit a line bout gettin n witout id?
-
Has E-40 ever worked with Dr. Dre?
-
isnt he in the california love video?
Has E-40 ever worked with Dr. Dre?
-
e-a-ski is the only bay area artist to work w/ dre I believe. Seems like dre ain't too fond of the bay
-
yeah I was about to name E-40 too
would love to see a E-40/Short collab over a Dre track :o
-

He was talkin about Dr. Dre...he mentioned Snoop in the same verse, Snoop and Dre's names go together like Jordan and Pippen....plus, Mac Dre has passed away (RIP), I don't think he would be bringing girls in the V.I.P. lol
-
now that I remember, Too $hort was on Scarface' "Game Over" with Dre and Cube and that was produced by Dre
-
I think having short on Game Over was more scarface's decision rather than Dre

I agree, But I was talking about Cube & Quik together..

Obviously you aren't from the bay. He was giving Mac Dre a shoutout, and this was right around the time his songs were getting hella love. Lyrics to Get Stupid: "S-T-U-P-I-D, when we go to the club we don't need ID"

No chance. This track came out in 2006, Mac Dre passed away in 2004. Why would he mention a person who's passed away bringing girls into the V.I.P.??? lol...Around the time when he dropped the Blow The Whistle album I remember him saying in an interview he would like to work with Dr. Dre -- he was giving Dr. Dre a shoutout saying the girls are with Dr. Dre and they don't need I.D. He also just worked with Snoop on that album with "keep boncin" and "life of the party" and he did "hotel" with t.i. He obviously was giving Dr. Dre love when he mentioned his name with Snoop and T.I.

It's OBVIOUSLY about Mac Dre. Why do you think he's mentioning him? Everyone was showing love to Mac Dre at that time, in fact dude didn't even get that kind of love until after he died. The reason he's talking about girls in a club is because it's a direct reference to a Mac Dre song that was huge in the bay around the same time. HE USES THE SAME LYRICS!! Wtf more do you need? He was paying respect to a deceased friend and fellow bay area rapper. Now you're trying to tell me he was mentioning a producer from LA he has had virtually no contact with who probably hasn't stepped foot in a club since 2000? LMAO, ridiculous.
-
Yeah sounds like my theory is right...yeah short knows who cube n dre are but i doubt this line was bout la dre...could b wrong but like member said everythin points 2 bay dre...now so u prolly think mac dre namin dre n that one song he was talkin bout la dre? Oh u aint know...

A producer from L.A. who just happens to be Dr. Dre. he mentions T.I. from Atlanta, and Snoop's from L.A. (Long Beach) so why not mention Dr. Dre? He did an interview with MTV at the time and said he would really like to work with Dr. Dre. He had just recorded with Snoop and T.I. so he mentions him. People mention and give them props all the time in music. "[Dr Dre] probably hasn't stepped into a club since 2000" but yet Mac Dre is dead how would he step into the club? I think Dubcnnn should just ask Too Short when they interview him next time cause he's the only one who knows the answer to this question but mentioning Snoop and Dre together in the same verse goes hand in hand and also he worked with the other artists in the verse at the time.
-
dre picks people to work with, guess his not a big fan of bay.
-
I think having short on Game Over was more scarface's decision rather than Dre
obviously, but it's still audio of Short rapping over a Dre beat which is what a few heads in here I guess never heard ;)
-
Yeah never cared but assumed it was mac dre...ask him

No It's not, he's just talking on the intro
-
the lyric is "THEY CAME TO DRANK, THEY DONT NEED ID".
LMAO @ 2 pages of arguing over a false lyric.

he didnt even rap he talked at the beginning

Don't think so homie, listen closely. He clearly says "with" not "to." But on the real, someone gotta ask Short.

dude its obviously Mac Dre. For the third time, HE USES THE SAME LYRICS AS A POPULAR MAC DRE SONG TO PAY HOMAGE TO HIM. The intelligent thing to do would be to say "thank you rapsodie for blessing me with your knowledge." Shit is obvious to anyone who lives in the bay.
-
what about Dr Dre and E-40? that would be bigger and NEEDS to happen one day.
-

No its not

Damn rapsodie..lol
-
Dr Dre needs to call up too short, get stoneyd together. I wonder why he hasen't made a song together? Short doesn't need dre,his songs/albums , beats are good nuff. he is probably busy with his family anyways
-
Damn rapsodie..lol
lol, I've had this argument before. Its always been fairly obvious to me and not sure why some people don't get it.
-
The girls came with fuckin' Mac Dre. Gosh.
-
Lol^ hey could b la dre but most think its bay dre
-
hey wrickard the only thing untouchable is ur big nose
-
Lol^ hey could b la dre but most think its bay dre
He uses the same lyrics as a Mac Dre song. End of story.
-
Thats y i always assumed it was mac dre
