I always gave it 4/5 but Im now officially changing it to 4.5/5
snoop will never top Doggfather let alone Doggystyle
-
most people would too if only they could sit back and take their time ::)
-
Tech i actually agree with you, Death Row snoop cant be faded
-
He actually came pretty close with "Tha Last Meal"...PeACe
-
how the fuck can ya give it 4.5/5? its a 2.5/5..... His worst....
-
^ u will emerge from the darkness one day.
IMO NL Top Dogg is closest snoops ever come to Doggystyle.. and thats still a bunch away.
-
4.25
-
Yeah., atleast the doggfather had that funky west coast feel to it.
With the dopest producers like dj pooh, daz and soopafly you can't go
wrong.
-
I think Doggfather is a CLASSIC in the truest sense, and by far Snoops second best album! Seriously, new jacks who didnt get into Snoop until after this album hae never een really listened to it, and most eeryone else dismissed it as soon as they realized it was not Doggystyle part 2.
Seriously, if you listen to the album, there is not even one bad song....listen to this album now, it has dope guest appearances, Snoop RIPS it, and the production is TIGHT. peace

you're right
-
it's all opinion but this is how i rank snoop's albums
Doggystyle
Last Meal
Paid tha Cost to be tha Bo$$
No Limit Top Dogg
Tha Doggfather
Da game is to be sold not to be told
-
I'd give it a 3.5/5, dope album but some of the beats were weak and Snoop started his whispering bullshit on this album...
-
my fav albumz from snoop iz
DS
DF
DMW
NLTD
PDCTBTB
TLM
DGITBSNT
-
my list....
Classic Albums
1. Doggy Style
Great Albums
2. Top Dogg
3. Tha Last Meal
4. Dogg Father
Below Average Albums
5. Paid tha Cost to be the Boss
5. Da Game is to be Sold, Not to be Told
the last two are a tie cause they are both about the same level for me.....if Da Game did not have Still A G Thang then it would be a different story.......i just think that paid the cost does not have one track like this......
-
Doggfather is the perfect example of Snoop being able to make a great album, without the help of the almighty Doctor ::)
Very tite production by DJ Pooh, Daz & Soopafly. 2nd best album IMO

im a big dr. dre fan but i agree.....and the reason is he stayed westcoast......
-
i like nl topp dogg better...i still like doggfather though
-
nl top dogg was cool, it was a solid album, i though it was good...
3.75/5
too much filler
-
doggfather is a god damn classic IMO. i never liked no limit top dogg. just dippin is a tight track tho. another dope snoop album is the last meal ADVANCE PROMO... i bump that disc more than the final release.
-
Tha Doggfather is only good as a freesbee
-
Doggfather is the truth.

I would agree with this rating except for two reasons:
1)Snoop didn't write all the songs on that album (Kurupt and Bad Azz wrote "2001", one of the tightest songs on that album. If you don't believe, check the booklet.)
2)on some songs, like Snoop Bounce you can barely hear Snoop over the beat (I don't know who's fault that is though)
Because of that, this album gets a 4/5 and my ranking of snoop's album goes a lil sumin like this...
1)Doggystyle
2)Paid the Cost to be the Boss
3)Doggfather
4)Last meal
5)Nl Topp dogg
6)Da Game

I remember when this came out everybody was shitting on i...Now people are calling it classic...The fact is when you compare this to Snoop's later albums, yeah it's almost classic...Snoop still had that dope flow that he somehow lost through the years, and the beats were pretty decent...I don't think production wise it's as good as Last Meal but Snoops raps and flow were deffinitely better back then...
