Title: Dr. Dre Not Working With Mel-Man Anymore?
Post by: CWalker187 on December 16, 2002, 11:27:04 AM
Someone posted this on SOHH.com.....

I think Dre is struggling right now. I think him and Mel Man had a falling out. I havent copped every aftermath release so I could be wrong, but I don't think he is doin Dre's beats anymore.

Early this year I interviewed Mel Man and he was talkin about his label and his new artist. When I asked him about DETOX he got kinda irritated. I thought maybe he was tired of talking so I deaded the interview. 2 months later I wanted to Refresh the article so I called the label for a follow up phoner. after getting the run around for 3 dayz, they told me that "Mel Man hasn't been in contact with the label in AWHILE, he's can't be contacted right now"!! So I'm thinking that he aint fukkin wit Dre no more. That's why dre's beats havent been all that lately. (MY OPINION) Mel Man was down wit Dre since the Firm album so you can notice the difference lately.

Mel was the one who stuck with Dre after all the drauma when everyone left Aftermath after the label's first album flopped commerically.

I doubt Mel-Man is split with Dre, we would hear something.  I think he has been really focused and busy with #1 - Rakim #2 - Detox.  We can expect him to be on Ra's album, and to co-produce along with Dre on "Detox."

What was the last time we've heard of Mel.  Was it on Truth's album?  How bout the last time we worked with Dre on a track?  Shit, I can't remember off the top of my head.

The Vault is the key once again  ;D

Dre & Mel worked together on Truth Hurts \/

Mel also lent a hand to the Eminem Show \/

That's the 2 latest Math releases, and he's on both of them.
+ he's making beats for Joe Beast
= I would assume that they're all busy on Rakim & the Dre-project..

^^^^

Those releases came out early this year, meaning that they ere worked on last year. That is quite awile back.

I think Mel-Man has left Aftermath. Good news in my book.

I think it's good for Mel-Man. Pick up on Dre's work habit. Figure out how to do the damn thing, get a rapper like say... oh... Hitmann and/or Last Emperor, hook up the tight beats, and then you got yourself a self make label, in where you are in charge and being your own man. I wish Mel-Man lots of luck, and I hope to see great new artist coming from him.
