Similar budget, and actors.   I have to say I liked Oz a little bit better, but both were excellent.

I voted OZ

I only saw season 1 of the wire and it bored me...

were as OZ and the Sopranos hooked me right away after a few shows.

Completely different shows. Oz is based in surreal fantasy. The Wire is based in mundane reality. I prefer the latter every time, but can understand why some people don't.

i will always be a huge fan of Oz, but The Wire was a dope series too...voted Oz tho

And White boy.....yes it's very good.  Good actors, and storylines.  The last seasons get a little funky but the first 4 or 5 are all good.  O'Reilly is that dude!

Of course its worth it..

It was one if not the first show HBO did with a real edge.

yeah seasno 1 to 3 is amazing 4 is decent then falls off like any other show,,, IE opranos, entourage etc


and you never saw the sopranos???? oh boy
