Sup everybody I had a question about a Nate Dogg album that i'm not sure ever saw the light of day or if it did I can't find it. I think it was just a self titled album and it was supposed to come out after Music and Me. I had a track from it called "There She Goes" with Quik and Warren G.
Anyone know about this or if it's available anywhere?
-
it was available for dwnload on Elektra's website. or it was sold on the website. can't remember.. some copys were pressed up for promoton (i have one of those :D
here's the album

Hey thanks man really appreciate that. What was the reasoning behind them pulling promotion and marketing on it, do you know? I always wondered
-
If you do a search, you should be able to find the album remastered on the forum somewhere.

I think it was around the time Elektra fired the rap department and that could be the main reason his album was never officially released..
-
Elektra went bankruptcy too.
It's weird because Nate Dogg had a lot of hooks on big singles at the time, promoted right this album could have done big, even if some songs are not top quality. Music & Me went gold, they would'nt have take any risks by putting this Nate album out.

Prizzops for the drop. :)
Does your promo have artwork and producer/feature credits etc? I've got the full credits from the elektra site but they're not written out specific to each track ::)

Damn i thought only "get up" copys were released for promotion! So the full album exists in physical copy?? Can you post some pics of what it looks like?? I need that album!!
-
i just looked at my copy, and no - unfortunately, there aren't any production-credits on there.. just the song-titles..
i will up a photo sooner or later..
yeah, Nate's third album exists in physcial form. there are 2 versions - the first promtional-copies from Eletra (that are extremely hard to find), and then the re-issue that Shortyo put out.. Somehow, someway - the idiot Shortyo managed to accuire distribution-rights from Elektra. He pressed up a bunch of retail-coupies, with horrendous arwork. i think the Shortyo-version is probably hard to find, as well..
nobody wants the Shortyo-version, so if you're a collector, check out eBay once in a while - and u might find the original promotional copy..
-
I can post the full credits if anybody's interested :)
-
Full Credits would be coo.
This albums along the lines of Music and Me, I liked his more bluesy style from his first album. It's awesome to hear his voice though he is missed for sure.
THere's probably a million albums out there that we will never hear.

Didn't know about the Shortyo thing. Damn too bad the rights went to this fat fuck! Nobody was never able to release that album properly, a shame! I'll check out time to time now that i know it exists!

"On Nate Dogg's new song, "I Need A Bitch," the Long Beach-bred rapper professes his admiration for a girl not afraid to "lift her skirt" in public.
Elektra Entertainment, Nate Dogg's label, recently serviced unedited versions of the song to mix show DJs. The track produced by Hi-Tek is an underground release from Nate Dogg's self-titled third solo album, due out on February 25."
:-*
"(1/30/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Crooner Nate Dogg will release a self-titled collection of his g-funk-flavored tunes on February 25. The Nate Dogg album will include appearances from Eve, Redman, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, Xzibit, Fabolous, Lil' Mo, Memphis Bleek, Freeway, Icarus, Warren G, Knoc-Turn'al, and newcomer Rob Stricklong.
Nate Dogg self-produced the set with the assistance of Rockwilder, Timbaland, Hi-Tek, FredwreckDamizza."
2 things. 1 Hi-Tek produced the track. 2 Nate was probably joint producer on the whole album - this is backed up by the original blurb on the Elektra site 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Can someone re-up the album please, and not to some russian site where I need to register if I want to download...
