Title: question about doggystyle w/ gz up hoez down
Post by: platinumk777 on December 18, 2002, 11:14:40 PM: As all of you know, there are 2 versions of Doggystyle, one with the track Gz Up Hoez Down, and one without. My question is... why did they stop shipping the albums with that particular track in it? Were they not able to get a clearance on a sample they used? And also, how many of those CDs are actually out there?

Then when I re-bought in it 1998 on CD, I was like, "somethings missing" It took me along time to realize that song wasn't on the CD, which is sad. I would sing it, look for it, and it never dawned on me that it wasn't there... LOL. I was very slow about that.

Post by: o g s u e s o n e on December 19, 2002, 01:21:29 AM: from what i´ve heard it was due sample clearances. i bought my copy the day it came out with that track. there is also a version with gz up hoes down AND "next episode" written on the backcover. next episode wasnt on that disc tho. the original doggystyle cd i have has the tracklist written on the disc too. the later versions dont have that. gz up hoez down is one of the best tracks on doggystyle IMO. but a lil bit 2 short....

Yep, took the day off of work and waited outside Camelot an hour before they opened to get that. Wasn't it an Isaac Hayes sample that couldn't get cleared?

wonder why somebody would sell their album of doggystyle to rasputins..its a classic!!!...fuckin crackheads!!!

Yeah, It was Isaac Hayes' "The Look Of Love". I don't know why they couldn't get it cleared, many other songs have sampled it too.
