I can't wait to see what this does to the Pats. They traded him for a 3rd round pick.

pats throw up the white flag faster than 2pac threw up the W for westside

Bellicheck is so delusional he think he can win with or with out anyone. Let's see how productive Welker is now that he'll be the main focus. Tate is going to have to earn double coverage. And they're coming back from the bye against the Ravens. Oh boy, even with Moss I'd predict a smashing. This is gonna make the playoff game last year look like a nail-biter.

pats have to play Baltimore, Pittsburgh, NYJ, Miami, San Diego, GReen Bay AND Minnesota this year

Here's to 7 more losses!

Kind of like Griffey coming back to the Mariners, except Moss isn't overweight, injury prone, and old, and can still play.

The Pats are the highest scoring team in the NFL.
Sure, you can be insane & claim that it's 110% on Randy Moss being a decoy, considering he only has nine catches in four weeks or maybe the Patriots just really don't need him to be efficient offensively.
Maybe they will lose a few TDs a game, but I would expect them to stay within the Top 10 in terms of scoring.
But I think the fact they traded a 3rd round pick for him, shows what his value was to the Pats.

Be serious. The team is the highest scoring team yes but that isn't for offense. it wasn't just the offense that scored all throw points on Miami the other night. Everyone scores against the Bills, and the Bengals play like shit this year. How'd they do against a real defense in New York?
It's obviously not all Moss, but it was hardly all offense that won the last 3 games they won. Let's see how they do against the next few teams.

Nobody is going to score on New York though lol.
I guess we'll just have to see. All defenders praise Wes Welker for being arguable the best WR when it comes to creating space. You don't need Randy deep, taking away a saftey to make that happen. Tom Brady will stick to his two and a half yard passing scheme. ;)

I fully expect the Pats to move the ball. I just expect a few TDs to become FGs, and that could be the difference in whether they make the playoffs.

Hernandez is an added weapon and is looking real promising. Look, they won championships with Givens and Branch. It can be done without Moss.

Hernandez is a monster. He can play that Wes Welker game & his cuts are unreal; dude can stop on a dime.
But the defense was much, MUCH stronger when they had Givens & Branch; although, they did score a lot of points then too.

yallni ggas must be razy if u think the Pats will be as good without Randy he took away so much attention

lol
where is rodney harrison and tedy brushci? and richard seymour? the pats are a shell of what they were on defense. they'll never win the SB without randy and with this current defense.
-
won't be passing judgment now, gotta see how this works out... for both sides. randy can still play though, no doubt.

No I agree that this defense looks weak, and I'm a diehard Pats fan. Sometimes I have no idea what they are trying to do. The Pats have all the pieces in store for big moves in stockpiled draft picks and they never make them. I think that a good straight up pass rusher like a Freeney or a Mathis is needed.

Honestly, the Pats aren't winning the Superbowl with that defense, period. With or without Randy. I think with or without Randy they can still run a pretty successful offense, but regardless of what they put up, I don't know if they can hold a great team (Jets, Saints, Steelers, etc.) under that number.
I mean, the Bills scored 30 on them lol.

be fair...cj spiller returned a TD on them lol

When you keep getting the ball back in good field position thanks to 3 and outs and good special teams you should score a lot of points. Football is so team oriented people forget that sometimes. A "scoring offense" rank can be very misleading. These Pats (with out Moss) aren't even close to the 03 or 04 Pats as a team, offense or defense. The Ravens are going to eat them alive. Givens, Branch, Brown, Smith and Faulk were never flashy guys but they worked as a unit. The blocking these guys performed was unreal. Screen plays don't work that well unless everyone is on board at a high level. And if yards after a block and blocks were recorded I'd imagine the first half of the decade Pats would be way ahead of the other teams.
The truth is that Wies is gone and so is McDaniels. can the understudy of the understudy be as good? We'll see. But having mr. head in the clouds I'm the King Tom Terrific isn't a good thing. He was a solid soldier in the first half of the decade. Now that he's a star he can't seem to perform under pressure. I fully predict that by the end of the season Matt Cassel will have numbers as good or better than Brady now that Moss is gone. I guarantee that the 01, 03, or 04 Pats win the the 07 Superbowl. Maybe not 19-0, but 14-6 is better than 18-1.
