First, what species? Second, did it get anything but bread? Third, do you mean real bread or the joke they sell you as bread in America?

See, I thought birds could live maddd long like that.

I think the bird is a Parakeet. And I was giving it human bread, like I'd rip a piece off and she'd pick at it.

Of all things and of all people, it had to be the bird. :'( :'(

She had bird food, but my moms switched up the brand, I doubt that matters, but yeah, white bread, and Italian bread, she'd barely eat it though, just a few bites like. The bird ain't even ours, that's why I know shit bout them. She used to talk and whistle, but than she stopped, I assumed from missing her real owner. Than she stopped whistling too. I fuckin' knew something was up, becuz her feathers was kinda spread open, and apart like, and she was letting me pet her, than I thought she was dancing, cuz she was moving her head up and down, cuz that's what the owner used to make her do to music, so I saw her doing that today and I thought she was coming out her depression, but I came home and she was laying at the bottom of the cage, I feel sick. :'(

I don't got a bird but from what you say I don't think it was the bread. How long did you have it? These birds can die from loneliness. But honestly, I don't know too much about the topic.

The guy had it for like 6 years, and of course, we get it for like maybe A year, and the thing goes..

Thank God, cuz I don't want it to the bread..

I appreciate it though!

we keep the bird by the window too and we put a towel/blanket over it on these cold michigan nights.

the wierdest thing about my bird is that it periodically lays eggs.

unfertilized dormant eggs but still it lays eggs somewhat frequently.

i didnt know it was possible.

I remember I had a couple parakeets.  There was a broken opening in the cage.  One day I had the birds outside in the cage and one got away.  A couple weeks later, the lone parakeet died from loneliness.  :(

:( I'm sorry. So they really could die from loneliness? Oh my God, maybe that was it. How sad.

I heard parakeets won't talk though, if there's more than one of them. Is that true?

Yes they can die from loneliness. And I've heard that parakeets can talk if there is more than one, but it's best to start out with one that will talk first if you're gonna add another one.

It coulda been a number of things, man. Those birds aren't very tough so the littlest things can cause them to kill over. Maybe the bread only caused malnutrition. Like everyone else was saying, lonliness coulda drove it crazy. One way to keep a bird from being lonley if you dont wanna get another bird is to buy it a mirror and put it in the cage. They think its another bird and it keeps them company. The cold weather could of made it catch pneumonia. Birds under stress from new surroundings get heart attacks it coulda been anything. Sorry to hear about that though.

Thanks alot!

See I thought that puttin' a mirror in the cage would shut them down, cuz I was under the impression with another bird, it wouldn't talk. This came from the owner though. And woww, it was the other way around, damn, lol.

Pneumonia, is what we was thinkin' too, but how would you tell it was sick. I don't know.

Appreciate it though for the answers people!

Yea the mirror is a great idea.  I highly recommend getting two birds though.  Shit, get two birds and a mirror and you're straight, ha, but yea I've had way too many pets.  I've had rabbits, dogs, turkeys, chicken, hamsters,  cats (who ate a hamster of mine), lizards, and birds--so I know what it feels like to lose animals that you get really close to.  I remember my dad went through a rough time losing a dog we had for years.
