Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - The Main Ingredient
I just love the vibe of the album. Classic Pete Rock instrumentals. I like the way the hook sounds, very very smooth & RnB. To me, this is the way singers should be used in rap songs. While C.L. Smooth is not the best mc around, the way he flows up and down (I don't know how to explain it) matches perfectly with Pete Rock funk. Favorite tracks: ''All the Places'' and ''It's On You''

classic album...one of the best examples of how the 1 producer 1 mc album should be done, still in pretty regular rotation for me 8)

This. The thing i like most about Pete Rock is how mainstream success has never fazed him, i mean with the talent he has, he should easily be considered among the true GOAT's.. but still to this day there's soo many people who havent a clue about him. So to me you can tell his an artist that makes music for the LOVE of it, instead of the fame and riches.
This track just oozes smoothness, & still one of my all time favourites.. Pete's just a genius when it comes to jazz rap.

mecca & the soul brother and the main ingredient are ridiculous albums.pete's productions paired with how effortlessly CL rides them equals pure flawlessness
