Royce was great back then. Still a very talented MC but not on the same level.

i agree   he's still great but back when he and Em were recording constantly in the late 90's that was when they were both at their peak

Definitely Royce's peek was in the late 90's.   He was on fire back then.  The leaks and bootlegs he was having back then shitted on anything that came out in stores.  Shit like "Soldier", "I'm The King", "The Throne Is Mine" was all FIRE!

As for Eminem, I think you can't say his peek was only in the 90's, because his biggest record that he will be remembered for 100 years from now is "Lose Yourself".  That song and the title track he did "8 Mile Rd" for the movie, that shit was Eminem's peek.   I think Em was on fire and never missed on a track from 98's Slim Shady EP all the way through the releases of 8 Mile and 50 Cents debut on Aftermath.    After that, of course he kind of fell off because he'd already fulfilled his destiny.

"Lose Yourself" put him on Rocky Balboa status and made him a legend forever.  "Lose Yourself" was his knockout blow.  The epitome of his career.  All his career had been building up to that moment when that song/video dropped and I think it was also his biggest hit song commercially and critically as well.  So this isn't just my own opinion, I think even Em would agree.
