Interested to hear what Shallow will say about the Chiefs vs. Bills matchup.
Chan Gailey really knows how to get the most out of his Quarterbacks. He performed magic whenever he managed a decent season out of career 3rd string quarterback Tyler Thigpen as the Chiefs 2007 OC. He really had the Chiefs offense moving, even without a running game, he had Thigpen running and throwing the ball all over the place in the same pistol offense he ran in college. Damn near saved Herm's job, if it wasn't for the Chiefs losing something like half their games by 7 points or less.

Jets over Fudgepackers
Pats over Vikings
Chiefs over Bills
Colts over Texans
Saints over Steelers (upset)

What's the deal with the Vikings schedule this year... it's like every week they are playing another top team. Here we go again with the Patriots and another hard fought war they will probably lose in the end... and thus carry even more wounds into the next week. I love the Vikings, it's hard to see them go down like this. And when the hell is Sidney Rice ever coming back, what happened to the Week 6 return, I've been keeping him on my fantasy roster for nothing.
-
I had heard Sidney Rice was more like a week 10 return
-
Chiefs/Bills is an easy call lol.
I feel the Chiefs are pretty overrated, but the Bills are one of the worst teams in the NFL.
-
ONE OF?? lol
-
Raider Nation with the win over the seahawks!
-
I'll say this; Gailey couldn't do a thing with Edwards but he has Fitzpatrick playing like a stud. However, Fitz also forces the ball way too much and eventually it's going to lead to a some bad INTs. Bad INTs that a Crennel defense might love to see. I'd pick the Cheifs no matter where the game was being held, but at Arrowhead it's an easy win. But then again I would have said the same about the Baltimore game and the Bills were all but screwed by the refs to lose that one.
And Cham, I still don't get you're over rated claim. Maybe by me, but most of the country gives them no credit. And the only two losses were nail biters against Indy and Houston at Indy and Houston.

There record doesn't justify how good they actually are; just like the Titans.
They are a middle of the pack team with a lot of youth, some great young corners & safety; a good system, that has potential down the road.
The only reason why it's such a no-brainer against the Bills, because the Bills are just miserably awful.

You described them the exact same way I would. So I ask again, who over rates them?
I'd have said the same thing about the 01 Pats in week 8, and after the Oakland playoff win. So don't count out middle of the pack teams. They can surprise you sometimes. Like the 08 Cards, or 05 Steelers.
KC is good enough to squeak out a win against anyone in the NFL right. That may say more about the lack of dominance in the league than it does about the Chiefs but still.

The media obviously. That's where people/teams become overrated.
The 05 Steelers had a great defense & the offense was strong & the 08 Cards were monsterous offensively; the Chiefs have an average offense & an average defense whose only impressive win is against the Chargers & the Chargers are having the worst year the teams had in a decade, so far.
Regardless, in a playoff atmosphere, I don't think they could handle the Jets, Steelers, Ravens, Pats or Colts.

And the Pats couldn't handle the Raiders, but they still won.
And you're joking if you think the Cards were supposed to win some of those playoff games. The 05 Steelers squeaked in to the playoffs and then only advanced because Nick Harper forgot how to play Pop Warner football and didn't run to the outside.
And the media isn't saying shit about the Chiefs. Yeah they have a good spread against the shitty Bills but they were underdogs against every other team they played. I'm not saying I'm counting on them to win in the playoffs, but I wasn't counting on your 3-3 Jets to march on to the AFC Championship game after losing to the measly Bills in week 6 of last year and finishing at 9-7. I'm saying they are a solid smashmouth defense and an offense that's getting better every week, and squeezing out a couple games in January wouldn't be a shocker, even less of a shocker if they get a couple home games.

Well, Chan couldn't really do much with Brodie Croyle or Damon Huard, or Edwards in your case.. but then again; who could of? What Chan can do is if you give him an offense long enough, before the end of 1 season, he will find a way to get that offense up and running, no matter how many QB's he has to go through.

And it's working very well, but they destroyed the defense by going back to the 3-4 and firing Fewel. They should have kept Fewel and let him at least run the D alone and let Gailey run the offense and handle the big decisions. Just like what they did in New Orleans. Williams was in complete control of the defense and Payton called the plays on offense.

I don't know enough about the talent on the Bills defense or about Chan's history as a head coach working with defenses (as he did in Dallas) so I will take your word for it.

Let's just say that when you don't have a proper nose tackle and your DEs are so small they can rotate as LBs you probably shouldn't be a 3-4 defense. But the offense is really doing well. However since I have KC as my fantasy D I hope Buffalo doesn't score too much.

Man, I wish the Titans were as good as the Jets. That's looking like a super bowl winning team out there vs. the Packers. It's the Jets offense that especially scares me.
Titans 'bout to handle the Chargers in SD
-
Jets just ran a QB sneak on 1st & 10 lol
4 Jets trips to Packer territory - 3 turnovers, 1 missed FG
-
THAT WAS P.I. on greenbay on that 4th down
fuck this shit
-
hilarious how GB gets 3 huge calls from the refs PLUS a big no-call
if I was there i'd throw some batteries at the ref
oh and this is no excuse for Sanchez's crappy play.
-
That was definitely not a P.I. If so, softest P.I. ever lol
-
ok now this last drive was all on the playcalling lol
but yes that was PI on the drive before
-
this is a deflating loss....thank god it's to an NFC team instead of AFC team but still i'd much rather have that W
oh well...time to look for next week (@ Detroit)
-
no excuses though, the ref didnt make u turn it over 3 times, miss a FG and try a stupid fake punt that lead to a packer FG (making this a TD game now, not FG - huge difference).
You're about to get blanked and that's embarrassing
-
What a joke of a game lol.
This is a loss that doesn't hurt though. Offensively we looked weak, but there were some BULLSHIT calls left & right today. We handed them 3 points on a good call for the fake punt.
I know we could run this game back in a week & Jets could win by 14; doesn't concern me.
We got the Lions & Browns the next two weeks; finally some gimmies (besides the Bills).
Fun Fact: All the Titans wins this season have come when Chris Johnson has 100+ yards or else they lose. The only game they won when CJ didn't have 100+ was when Kerry Collins threw for 276. ;D 8)
Hand VY that MVP prontooo.
-
Brett Favre is a fucking warrior, man.
What an animal; people only hate on him because he makes a big deal in the off season.
-
I been a Titans fan since 98. Long before I knew who Vince Young even was. I'll be a Titans long after VY is no longer a Titan. And that can be next year or 10 years from now.
Keep comin with the VY & CJ shit, I don't care, I like the Titans, not individuals.
Score a point at home :D

What a nail-biter in KC. Haley is really screwing with the team with his going for it on 4th downs, but they squeaked out in the end and that's all that counts. 5-2 and soon to be AFC West Champs. And for all the haters that say they almost lost to Buffalo they aren't that good and didn't say that about Baltimore, I could care less what you think.
-
And since I l like to make your "fun facts" like stupid week in, week out, just off the top of the dome I will make your "fact" look ridiculously meaningless.
On a 30-3 Monday night win that Young left after we were already winning 7-0 in 2minutes (he threw a TD), Young got the deserved win because we won 30-3 and he left with a 7 point lead (again, just 2 mins in so dont try and argue he did nothing, he would have continued the route) CJ went over 100 yards with 20 seconds left on a meaningless 35 yard TD run when it was already game over
-
the fact that we were within one play of leading 7-6 the whole game amazes me

^ lol just bein a dick
CJ should have caught 4th down pass. Collins had some erratic throws though. Too bad VY got hurt He was ballin. He would have lead the comeback properly..

Yeah, what a game! Can't imagine what Buffalo fans are going through right now (well, actually this is nothing compared to losing four straight Superbowls). But for Buffalo to play so well the last couple weeks and lose the way that they have has got to be completely demoralizing to their spirit.
I thought Chan coached a great game. Chan was cool, calm and collected as always. But to be threatening around the Chiefs 40 yard line for three possessions only needing a field goal to win, and to end up with a missed field goal (after a make gets taken away), an interception (on a ball that slips out QB's hand), and a sack that takes you out of field goal range... TOUGH LOSS!
Jamal Charles looked sensational today. Without rookie Dexter McCluster he was able to go out for more passes and get extra action on a few end around plays, and then as a running back I don't think anybody can fuck with him right now... EVEN CHRIS JOHNSON!!
And KC fans as always hatin on Cassel even in a win, but Cassel played very efficient today, 1 touchdown, no interceptions. And he made the big passes when he needed to hitting rookie Tight End Tony Moaki when it counted most.
btw, what about Haley and Charlie Wies's empty backfield pass call on 4th and 2?
Crazy game! (waiting for Shallow's reply)

That short pass was ridiculous. You have to at least tease a run play when you're a run team playing against a bad run D. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it a 3rd and 1 play followed by a punt? The 4th and 2 was the risk taker at the 19 yard line that ended up in a sack and the backfield was not empty.
Either way both plays were very stupid. First, not going for the FG that would have most likely ended the game in regulation time was absurd, and obviously Haley's fault. I'll give the blame to Wies for the no backfield play. That was just silly. The only way I'd agree with that is if it was 3rd and a long 3 or 4 and the play call was a run up the middle by Cassel. 3rd and 1 with Charles or Jones is an easy play to make against the Bills.
The Cheifs need to stop trying to fool teams and start just focusing on basics. Bowe needs to work on his game, because say what you want about the old SB Pats WRs but they were very good at adjusting and making plays after something went wrong, and it made up for their inability to break free or make circus catches. Bowe had a TD in his hands and dropped it, and a couple of other bad throws tipped were still makeable receptions if he had a little more wit and grit to him. I'm starting to think KC may have benefited a lot from a Deion Branch trade that may have been a possibility earlier in the year.
KC with that TD drop and the 30 yard FG they didn't try, and the fumble recovery that was just an inch out of bounds did outplay the Bills and should have put them away earlier. But they are a growing team and hopefully by playoff time they'll get the kinks out of the system.
The Bills are so far gone I can't get upset by them losing. But with Fitz playing so well and The Bills not akin to sign a 30 million dollar rookie in Ryan Mallot, I'm not sure what they should do with the number 1 pick assuming they get it. If they stick it out with the 3-4 then I say trade the pick for a 1st and 2nd round pick of another top ten pick team who really wants Mallot. Then make sure you get the best nose guard available. If they can just beef up their lines they'll be a solid team. It's the o-line that's hurting the run game and the D-line that's making the other teams run game look better than it is. We do not need a QB or the #1 pick. Fitz can lead this team for the next 5 years at least.
I'll say this though. I'm pretty sure you can find a post of mine from 6 or 7 months ago that says the Bills should get Wies as HC and hire Crennel as DC and we'd make a run. In hindsight the best bet would have been Marty at HC with Wies and Romeo as the OC and DC, and we may have been 5-2 right now. And sorry but the Chiefs may have been 0-7. But it didn't work out that way, so Go Chiefs Go!

Yeah it is good to see Heyward-Bey is starting to play better. McFadden is beastin and Campbell is getting into a rhythm with the offense. Bring on KC

Young > Sanchez
LOL, Ravens, Pats, Vikings & Packers >>> anyone the Titans have played this season besides the Steelers & they shockingly lost that game.
The Ravens & Packers have two great defenses; so against better defenses with more of a "run first" mentality Sanchez has thrown for more yards, equal amount of TDs & I don't know if you saw those two BULLSHIT interception calls yesterday, but Mark should only have two also.
I'll be the first to tell you that neither are elite QBs, probably not even in the Top 15 in the league & I can admit that without the run game, they would both be far worse.
I need some credible wins before I can say otherwise.
-
^ of course they are both run mentality teams but I will take Young over Sanchez because of his mobility option. I don't think Sanchez is a better passer, not worst, but equal. Young has done a great job taking care of the ball and that was his biggest problem.
Neither are top 15.
U think the Vikings are better than the Giants? No freaking way LOL. I wouldn't even say the Ravens or Packers are better than the Giants (equal at best). And we smoked the Giants 29-10.

LOL. The Giants looked miserable back then. But the Ravens are easily one of the two best teams in Football & I'd say the Packers are in the same ballpark as the Giants, but heads up, give me the Packers all day.
The Vikings aren't better than the Giants, but the Vikings are no walk in the park. Shit, the Dolphins are even a tough team.
I'll give Vince mobility in terms of advancing the ball/rushing (easily); but Mark has amazing footwork & can throw on the run like a champion.

Ravens almost embarrassingly lost to the Bills. I'd give the Giants the slight edge over the Ravens. Packers are in the same ballpark. That game would go either way 10/10. Titans play Dolphins coming off the bye so I'll hold u to that :P
Mark has better footwork than Vince no doubt but Vince is great at using his mobility to get away from pressure and still throwing on the run

Raiders were dope, I'm just wondering if we'll actually get another win. I'm not saying we'll lose for the remainder of the season, but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost this one but win the next game. Either way I know 1 thing the Raiders are actually looking way better in this bitch.
If we actually pull off a dope season this year, Only thing I'm a hate is watching all the fake ass mother fuckers going out like bitches rooting 4 them only win they don't suck. I know 1 dude who hated the Saints when they started winning and go 2 the bowl his ass was drapped in the gear head 2 toe saying shit like I gotta represent my favorite team. I socked him in the jaw and told his ass if I ever see him pulling that shit with the Raiders I'm have 2 fuck him up.
2 all the Real Raider Nation Fans, Fuck these fake ass niggaz. The shit is ours 4 the taking.

If McFadden and Campbell can stay healthy then I don't see why you can't. Even though Cable has said that Bruce is his guy I don't see how he could sit Campbell after your last two games...
