Don't know what to think of this ;D
Who thinks Jay will reply?
-
Jay ignored 50 Cent and other allot more relevant rapper disses, so..
-
wtf is this? dude should really know better...no doubt this will go by unnoticed like it deserves
-
i like the tracc.. aint lookin at it like a diss... stupid move from hammer
-
Jay ignored 50 Cent and other allot more relevant rapper disses, so..
Dude acts like he's above every body but I think he's scared of losing again.
-

Props to him for doing it tho it took balls or maybe he know he has nothing to lose so why not!!atleast someone has the balls to call out that overrated faggot
Overrated?
How is Jay-Z overrated?
-
jayz is HEAVILY over rated
dude is a top 40-50 rapper pretending to be a top 5 rapper of all time
-
jayz is HEAVILY over rated

Are we talking on pure rapping skills or the overal status of the artist?
-
Jay-Z is extremely overrated. He is afraid he will end up on the losing end like he did with Nas again. He's a smart business man, and smart business men put business over pride. I bet you he loses sleep every night knowing he gets clowned on by Hammer.

Common man i know you never liked Jigga but how can you say he is overratted seriously. I mean the cv , the history speaks for itself the guy has been extremly succesful.
I mean the argument could hold say in 2001 5-6 years into his career but to have a 15 year career how can you be overrated when youve had that much success.
-
fuck gay-z
-
Hammer dropped that fucking ether
Hov's career won't recover from this

ofcourse pure rapping skills. he's not close to Big L, Pun, Biggie, Kool G Rap, KRS One, the GZA, Nasty Nas etc. and THAT'S ONLY INCLUDING NYC RAPPERS
jigga is a big name in rap but so was Vanilla Ice in his hey day lol
-
I understand what you mean but Vanilla Ice did not have a run like Jay-z which is why the term overrated i think is not accurate. Fakes and the not talented can only hang on for so long and IMO you cant be on top or near the top of watever industrie you are in if you are overrated.

Puff Daddy has remained relevent in rap for almost 15 years
-
jay-z is a fucking millionaire, dude just fucked beyonce and is having a kid - do you really think he gives a fuck about a diss?

music wise he's irrelevant, look how hard it is for him to put out an album. Funny thing is though, his Press Play album was actually kinda hot and people are too scared to admit it

Lil Wayne has had success. Nelly has had success. They're all overrated as fuck though.
It ain't even that I hate Jigga. I'm just not his biggest fan and I'm not gonna tell you that he is the greatest rapper alive and his shit is made of diamonds just because that is the cool thing to say.
-
that was horrible!!!

the fact it came from MC Hammer may be a bit embarassing

I don't think anyone on here would call him the greatest alive. I can't recall anyone saying that. I actually think he's underrated by a lot of people here as a reaction against his popularity and longevity. Maybe because he's really the only golden age rapper who has managed to still stay relevant and be taken seriously, and people hold that against him and see him as undeserving of the fame. I see him as an above average rapper who has dropped 3 albums highly regarded by the hip hop community. That's more than all but an elite few rappers can even dream of and that gives him legend status imo. Do I think he's the greatest? No, but he's definitely one of the greats.
Speaking of overrated, Big L is overrated as fuck to me. How does he attain legend status off of ONE album? ONE album?!! Please....

Jay-z has 2 great albums, black album is over rated.
I'd be more impressed by Jay-Z if he had his own style and didn't change it for any thing.
Reasonable doubt was just another mafioso album when it dropped, not even the first.
Vol. 1 - 3 he basically started taking the bad boy style.
American Gangster wasn't that succesfull, next album he has Drake, Rihana, Alicia Keys & Young fucking jeezy...

imo the Black Album was better than the Blueprint. And regardless of your opinion of it (that's why I said "the hip hop community"), it was critically acclaimed.

I used to like it to, but I haven't been feeling it as much lately lol.
Would've been much better if Change CLothes wasn't on there.
American Gangster > Black Album
IMO Jay-z was always out shined by the production, at least on the good albums he made.
-
Reasonable Doubt may not have been the first mafioso album, but that shouldn't take away from its quality. After all, Doggystyle was basically The Chronic pt 2 but its certainly a classic in its own right. First, take into account that the album was being made 2 years earlier, but it took 2 years for them to get distribution. And why is it no one makes the same complaint about the other mafioso albums like The Infamous, Life After Death, Doe or Die, etc? It seems like such a bullshit excuse. People just don't want to give Jay-Z credit where credit is due.
-
Do people genuinely believe that Jay-Z has the time or the care to respond to this?

Thats the first I heard of The Infamous being a mafioso album.

Hammer dropped that fucking ether
Hov's career won't recover from this
Are you on the same planet?

Classic ;D

going off topic a bit, but firstly Big L achieved that status off 2 albums. also, if you wanna make that argument about Big L, the same argument could surely then be applied to B.I.G.
-

Are you on the same planet?
you are being sarcastic? Jay already scrapped the We Are the Throne album with Kanye, he too shook to be in the public eye, that baptism at the end was the nail in the coffin to his career

Jay-Z speaks on Hammers Diss with UK's Dj Semtex

Song is dope. Hammer has the bay right behind me 8)
-
songs was cool but whats the point of dissing jay z? I used to not like him but you can't doubt, he puts out quality material, time after time, while other artists struggle to capture listeners. Jay-z must be doing something right.

Jay is mad overrated. He bites other great rappers styles/songs and tries to call it his own. As a New York Mc, he's below average or maybe average on his best day on the mic flow/lyric wise. He's just lucky to be able to talk to the right people at the right time cuz his deep roots in freemasonry. Hov is a fraud IMO..........nothin special. He definitely doesn't deserve that GOD like status of a Pac or Biggie.
-
Regardless of you like this song or not,I can't believe MC Hammer...cough...excuse me King Hammer dissed Jay-Z isn't he christian and who is he to diss,to judge, look down on someone.I like this lol,but still,I like Jay-Z too btw.
P.S Jay-Z got nice wordplay regardless if you hate him or not the man got talent, and he must be doing something right. His name keep popping out ya mouths,if you hate him so much why keep talking, posting on threads about him.

I read on hip hop weekly a couple of weeks ago & the front page talks about Jay Z dissing Hammer about his misfortunes. Whenever a rapper disses someone, the dissed rapper is most likely to respond ;) At least Hammer wants to help him & save him. Even though Jay Z disses Jesus. He even dissed jesus on 'run this town.' Talk about fuck the other side, we got the table full of broads they got the table full of fellas. The table full of fellas is Jesus & his disciples. All the junk i've been hearing about the music business the last few months, i'm starting to wonder if Jay Z blood sacrificed Biggie also, or was it Puffy that did it :-\
Here's a video on why Jay Z has been getting dissed & unliked lately. And this diss song is much better than the one Hammer did.

THX though,I gotcha maybe my post came off a bit wierd, but yeah clearly Jay-Z is trying to make up for something.I don't know if your hazing me, but haha, I'm pretty sure just like Viola-ta Wallace said once "I'm sure Puffy loved my son, after he was dead".
