Just found this article, which is being shown on many sites now, check it:
http://www.rwdmag.com/2010/11/dr-dres-gives-kush-and-detox-release-dates-plus-announces-guests/
Anybody know where to find that press release? And I know some won't like it, but I don't mind Beyonce/La Roux on there. In fact, knowing that all of these current "rappers" on the radio aren't on there is automatically a very good start. But without seeing the full press release I can't comment too much on that part.
-
lol La Roux?? expect some Under Pressure type music then
-
Eminem : Oh really ? ::)
Jay-z : Oh really ? ::)
Game : Oh really ? ::)
La Roux : WTF ??? BTW it's gonna be a good shit 8)
Beyonce : Good 8)
-
He's always creative with his features tho: no bullshit. Like Mary J. on the last album, that was fitting.
Another one I never saw coming was the track with Bilal called "Fast Lane." That is one of my favourite 2000 era Dre tracks. Nice nice song. It will be good, he knows what he is doing.
-
It will be good, he knows what he is doing.

http://twitter.com/skeetonmytwitts/status/4346759589404672
so the la roux track on detox might be a "dre produced" version of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2XmLcnYSwQ
at least he tried to license this track for detox at some point.
(it's a rather credible source btw)
-
Who r la roux
-
That La Roux album is banging. No complaints there.
-
I wonder if Bushwick Bill will be on it . He was on the first Chronic album , and Dre said he has people from his previous albums on this next one .
-

(it's a rather credible source btw)
who is it?
Who r la roux
lol. 2Pac fans really do live in a cave where only west-coast rap music exists.
-
Who r la roux
:(
La Roux will be cool. In For The Kill was a great record, esp the Skream remix
-
looks like its shaping up to be real i found another article with the same info
http://www.nme.com/news/dr-dre/53918
-
I'd be shocked if the La Roux song wasn't co-produced and featuring Eminem.
-
Im not happy with Camelface is on it together with his wife, eehhh what can u do, Dre gotta go commercial route. I would really like to see more young upcoming dudes like Kendrick Lamar and J Cole on it then Jay Z...
PS. Yo Dre get rid of Beyonce and put Michel'le on it. ;D
-
This is La Roux : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IYvh43ELA8&feature=related
Great Voice 8)
-
It will be good, he knows what he is doing.
:eh: i'm not so sure of that. he changed his mind several times.
-
He will delay it a couple of months like they all do . I wonder if Cube will make it on ?
-
That would be cool if ice cube was on it and there was like a mini NWA reunion.. But it seems like Cube and Dre are not on the same page for whatever reason.
-
all those features seem made up by somebody...how in the hell could they know??? Dre said on Big Boy that it will be mostly the old roster :-X and Jay-Z won't be on it he was only on Under Pressure and it was confirmed a while a go that it wont be on the album
-
i thought the features had been already been confirmed months ago - everyone and their momma :cow:
-
Dre said on Big Boy that it will be mostly the old roster :banana_trippin: :banana_trippin: :banana_trippin:
:-X and Jay-Z won't be on it he was only on Under Pressure and it was confirmed a while a go that it wont be on the album
-
i dont even think dre knows who will be on detox for sure
-
glad Game's on it 8) wonder if Game and Jay-Z will ever be in the studio together during recording or whatever, could be awkward
-
That La Roux album is banging. No complaints there.
Yes! I love their music, didn't even tought they were known in US, good for Dre.
-
Jay-Z won't be on it he was only on Under Pressure and it was confirmed a while a go that it wont be on the album
no Under Pressure wasn't the only Detox song with Jay-Z
Sir Jinx: I never even heard the “Under Pressure” song. [I would have remembered if I had] because I have a song with [Dr. Dre for Detox] and it involves Jay-Z as well. So when I heard [about a Dr. Dre song featuring Jay-Z] I said, “Oh shit, my song got leaked.” It was not my song. [But], the song that I did with Dre, Jay-Z had something to do with [that one] as well… The song that I got with Dre, it’s amazing. It’s a dope, dope, dope song.

I got to admit this remix is very dope 8)

I never liked that song with mary j for some reason..it still has not grown on me yet..fuck it.

This album is gonna suck so much.
A cast of label picked, mainstream artists, signing and rapping over beats that Dre didn't make.
Like seriously. I'm actually disappointed.
It would be nice to hear some dope west coast hip-hop beats with dope west coast rappers on them.
In 4 months from now, I'm going to be reading a hiphopdx.com review that looks something like this:
Detox : 3 out of 5 stars.
For years, we were tantalized by rumors of Detox: next level beats, some incorporating orchestral elements, some incorporating new-age electronic elements, and some incorporating elements of old school hip-hop. Many were purported to be breathtaking. The beats were also to be a showcase of the new bag of tricks Dre had in store, and were to be a chance for newcomers like Bishop Lamont, Slim Tha Mobster, and Hayes to showcase their talents. Longtime friends of Dre such as Eminem, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, 50 Cent, and Kurupt were also scheduled to rip the tracks.
Instead, what we got was a pop-rap album, carefully constructed by the label to placate the trends of the moment. Curiously, not a single song on the retail Detox was recorded prior to late-2009, suggesting that the hip-hop version of Detox was scrapped.
Seriously. I don't mean for this to be one of those long winded fantasy posts (even though it already is), but I have a very bad feeling that in 5 months, we are going to talk about what Detox could have been.
I'm gonna log onto allhiphop one day, and its gonna be like exclusively interview with bishop lamont... allhiphop: do u think that the best 13 detox tracks were picked for the album. Bishop: fuck no! the label picked those songs.

Mmm.... Possible but I hope your wrong. Logically you would think the label would have somehow pushed this during the past ten years it was rumored to come out.
Why would Dre all of a suddenly cave and do this now in 2010? I don't believe it. I think Dre has the clout to do what Dre wants, whenever he wants...

lol, true. Then maybe it was Dre that decided you know what i just want this to be a completely mainstream hip-hop album that conforms to whatever trends are going on now. sigh....

This is non-sense... what makes you think you know who is going to be on Dre's album? Just cuz you read some phony press-release?
We've been hearing bullshit news and rumors for ten years, when I hear it I'll believe it.
I mean why would you believe this hype when the man himself was on the radio two days ago saying the tracklist was being kept hush. Don't believe everything you read on the internet...
-
la roux is so fucking annoying...
shes also one of the most atrocious things ive ever laid eyes on...

Dre gotta go commercial route
Chronic had a bunch of unknowns on it at the time, Snoop had only been on Deep Cover, the others hadn't been on anything much
When he launched Eminem, dude was utterly underground up until that point
So it's odd now that Dre feels he has to get a bunch of "big names" on it, or making it fit into what's currently hot,
because before his whole thing was he MADE what was hot, instead of following it
I always got the impression in the past that Dre just made things that really impressed HIMSELF, and because he was hard to please and had good taste, it ended up being dope to a lot of people.
I get the impression now though that Dre is trying to impress other people first, and himself second

The one in your sig isn't the real one. This is just a screencap. The one you posted is the real one.

I didn't know who La Roux was, then I saw the youtube vid, and realized that I hear that song like 5 times a day on the radio lol

Dissapointed? In a press release? Love how it's got you so bugged that you not only know what it sounds like but you can predict what an Internet hip hop site is going to write about it.
I'm kind of looking at that bright side. No matter how good or bad Detox is, when it finally gets released and we get the six months of goddamn critiques and feedback, we'll finally forever be done with the endless bitching about GUEST FEATURES!!! Nobody but Dre could inspire pages upon pages of grown men complaining about which artists are gonna be featured on an album. All off a title and a few interviews.
-
Dre also said on the big boy interview that a lot of the same people from the first 2 albums will be on this one. Like many have stated we've heard bunk rumors for the last 10 years so i aint buyin into any of the album info until the album actually drops. Im not expecting this album to be near as good as chronic or 2001 but im almost positive it will be ten times better then the mainstream hip hop crap thats out currently.
-
This album probably will tarnish Dre legacy... Akon , Beyonce ? WACK .... As said in previous posts Dre used to set the trends with his 1st two CDs , it seems he's going to follow them on Detox .... at least garbage like Gaga, BEP or David Guetta do not seem to make the cut ..
-

As I said before, what do guest features have to do with setting trends? I think West Coast heads are getting way too stuck up about this shit. Dre's camp has been fucking with Akon for close to 5 years now so it's not like they just threw him on there because he's hot. I'm starting to think half this forum would buy a blank CD as long as the album cover had great features listed on the tracklist.
-
Akon is hot. what he's last smash shit? track with eminem?

well i'm sure it played a role

Can you actually check the radio interview on Power 106 with Dre? He says "Kush" is nothin like "Detox" would be (altho it will be on the album). But he also said that he will have a lot of people he used to work with and some new cats as well. It got me high for a minute.
-
well dre put sly and kobe on Kush almost for no reason, so i wouldnt worry about him having only big names there
-
well dre put sly and kobe on Kush almost for no reason, so i wouldnt worry about him having only big names there
i wouldn't say sly was put on there for no reason, he imitates Nate after all.
-
Dre gettin' his Kanye on?? Cuz 'Ye already did that La Roux track! And both Jay-Z & Beyonce on Detox???
But i can't wait for the album tho!! Cuz i know Dre will drop a classic!!!!!!!! WESTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is what YOU think. Sly has been in the studio with Dre for a much longer time than you guys might think, his part of Kush just happens to sounds like Nate, that's all. He's really talented.
-
All rumours with no credible source. I'll believe it when Dre says it or when the album lands in my hands.

Exactly.. they both did their thing..
and I really hope Kobe will be put on at least 5 other songs.. His hooks are fuckin dope!

not sure about that, but there's no doubt in my mind, that the idea for Kush was to let Sly imitate Nate's style

its just real low singin, some people are confused becouse Nate used it pretty often.. but i may be wrong, since we can only speculate

off course, i'm speculating as well.
but my theory isn't far fetched
