(http://www.dubcnm.com/artistimages/slimthemobster.jpg)Pulling up to a million dollar mansion in an innocuous but wealthy neighborhood, I double checked the address to make sure it was correct... it was. Two wrought iron gates stood in front of me and a bevy of security cameras and an intercom flanked my car. I dialed the button and the gates ominously opened. Boisterous and charismatic, Slim walked out and greeted me. "What up cuz. Not too many people make it behind these doors." We walked inside his house and he sat down, offering me a drink. The phone rang and I heard an eerily familiar voice, "What up." "What's good unc?". "I'm leaving Detroit and back in town this week. Let's link up." "Fasho". Slim calmly hung up the phone and looked at me, "That was Dre. Detox is done".
Shrouded in mystery, Slim the Mobster is the next protege of a man who needs no introduction whatsoever. Having written over 70% of Detox and the latest single, "Kush" he is next on deck after the long awaited Detox drops this year. Preferring to keep a low profile, we had the rare opportunity to sit down with him for one of the most in depth interviews he has given in his career. Below is part one of that interview.
DUBCNN TV: Exclusive Interview with Slim the Mobster Part 1 (http://dubcnn.com/interviews/slimthemobster2010pt1/) (Video/Text)
Stay tuned next week for part 2 and check back for the latest news on Slim the Mobster.

OH BOY!
The build up to DETOX on DUBCNN begins here!
-
Will U Be Posting Any New Slim Tracks?
-
thanks for the interview
Dubcnn: As far as your career, do you have a lot of freedom about how you go about it?
Slim the Mobster: Yeah, I was able to grasp my own situation ‘cause I did put out my own mixtape, which was part of the reason that really got him fuckin’ with me. Shout out to DJ Clue. He did my first mixtape. I was low key kind of signed behind that. That mixtape sold millions and millions, whatever the numbers the best mixtapes did, my mixtape did better than any mixtape ever. So that’s always a good look. How many artists that got mixtapes got signed from their mixtapes, I did. It’s not televised or public as the next person but that’s what I did.
;D
Dubcnn: Musically, where are you coming from? Where is your project gonna be centered around? The Detox album, I’m sure they’re related but different.
Slim the Mobster: It’s gonna have its similarities, and the difference is… I’m in my own space. The shit I talk about is the shit Dre can’t talk about, the shit Dre won’t talk about. And the shit Dre talk about is the shit I can’t talk about because I haven’t done it yet. Same with me the things I talk about it’s kind of untouchable to him because he already talked about it. My album is gonna be like an NWA album, you gonna hear some shit that’s real. It ain’t gonna be a Dr. Dre album, it’s gonna be a real joint.
that's a subliminal

Props on the interview, lookin fwd to part 2 8)

---We shall see..... ;)

He will never see his shine .We all know it. That label takes ZERO chances with fresh talent. 2 years from now , he will still be on the shelf , GUARANTEED . He said that Detox is done , so what happened to the 2 or 3 more tracks Dre said he needed ?
-
IN the interview he mentions a mixtape that he has done that was succesful....
So , where can this mixtape be found on the internet....or is it not on the internet or was he just making that part up?
If dubcnn hosted it don't make a big deal about me not knowing about it...I don't check the site absolutely 100 percent regularly...
also it seems like this guy is like the hitman for detox.....whereas hitman was the new rapper for 2001 ......he is the new rapper for detox.....seems like that anyway...
I just hope this guy is more talented than "hitman"
-
According to him, the singles were just wrapped up in Detroit during that last session. Dre was with Eminem and completed them over the course of several weeks.
-
He seems a tad bit delusional with his comments about his mixtape.
Also, can someone explain what he means by this,
A lot of the things that got leaked, they put Bishop Lamont name on, that was me. 26s scrub, so forgive me for the noise. For those people who thought my range wasn’t on 6’s buddy big boy shit goin’ on over here.
The only known leak that people mislabeled was Coud've Been You.

SO what's up he is lying he doesn't have a mixtape that has sold millions of copies? It probably is impossible to have a mixtape sell that much cause there is no distribution network outside the internet that could sell that much for a mixtape...and mixtapes are usually for free on the internet.
-
It seems like everyone has a "lottery ticket" mixtape story with Dr. Dre. I thought this guy was DOC's nephew?

not sure how many units the mixtape sold, but hardly anyone knows who he is, let alone that he has a mixtape
-
ill be praying for him to release album.. i dont care if it would flop or whatever.. but i want to see this nigga to shine @ least a bit
-
speaking on Slim, anyone got this joint Gang Bang Capital he did with Kartoon & 40 Glocc awhile ago tagless?
also i would appreciate if someone would hook me up with tagless version of Set Trip with Spider Loc

Every interview I've read with him he comes across as deluded and egotistical. There's like 10 members who know your name and your work. Your mixtapes selling millions? Really?
Telling half truths. It'll be interesting to see if he blows.

That is not a half truth.........a half truth means half of the story is true....how slow do you got to be to figure that out.....it is a straight up lie...cause there is no truth in it....
It is okay for dubcnn to put up these kind of interviews no knocks on them...cause when someone is bored they just want something to read....then it is cool ...but yeah there is very little truth in this guys words.....Is it for sure that he has ever met dr. dre? that would be some play to show off by saying to the interviewer oh yeah that was dr. dre on the phone just now......yeah it is really for sure that I know him and am close with him........I wouldn't be surprised if detox comes out without this guy on there.....
-
dubcnn again.... oh boy
props

Nah DOC's nephew. He grew up in DOC's house though. The only blood relation he has like that is Chocolate; the dude who produced "Ice Ice Baby" and is signed to Aftermath as an in house producer with DJ Silk collectively known as The Ginuwin Draftz. He's Chocolate's nephew. As a boy he lived with Chocolate in DOC's house though.

pictures with Dr.Dre and slim the mobster in the studio were posted on here a while ago.
not to mention that Dre said in a few interviews that he's working with Slim the mobster and that he will be featured on Detox

He sucks . Marginal talent that was only recognized because of who he knows , not because it stood out .

I mean his conversation as a whole. He's telling half-truth about his story and half-lie. He obviously hasn't sold millions of mixtapes but he has worked with Dr.Dre as his ghostman.
-
In and out of prison is hardly making an effort to do something with his life . He is a leach .
-
i see bitch asses over here sippin on that haterade 8)
-
This dude still needs to prove himself, I still havent hear some great quality stuff from him, so Action is on point here, even his writing on Kush was average. Dude has nothing on Kendrick Lamar for example. But maybe he will release sth and I could be wrong but I doubt it.

i doubt his album ever comes out, but if it does, then great beats could make it listenable
-
I still can't believe Dr Dre dropped Bishop Lamont and this guy is still signed....
-
I was actually listening to his mixtape on the way home, shits cool, but nothing next level, I'm keen to see what he does on Detox. I liked his verse on Could've Been You, 50 should of left it on there...
Does anyone know if that joint he had with Snoop on the mixtape ever leak? Or if a good quality Muthafucking Streets came out?

Isn't anyone going to say how to download his mixtape? I mean it is very rare to get a million selling mixtape...so i would like to hear it.
But was this just a lie and there isn't even a mixtape to begin with?
-

There is a mixtape, use google I'm sure you'll find it after ten or so minutes, that's what I did
-
I found a link that was broken but that looked strange....I dont think there is a mixtape

I've stated twice that I have the mixtape, seriously homie I sometime think you may be mildly retarded

I am not saying that you are lying....I am saying that there is no mixtape on the internet....maybe there is a mixtape but the artist doesn't want it out...I looked for a long time.....there is not a mixtape out there....plus if anyone wanted to back this dudes words up they could post a link to the thing instead of just vouching for it....
Maybe the mixtape is so Wack the artist doesn't want anyone to hear it and so made sure no one could find it on the net.

When is the 2nd part coming?
-
Just dropped today.
-
This nigga lying with a straight face. People are fuckin gullible to believe shit he spills. Idk y Dre fuckin with him. In pt 2 of the interview he said he ain't like a lot these niggaz being typical west coast niggaz with khakis n shit, really? Ain't nobody wearing that shit but his homies. There's plenty of niggaz with shwag that be rocking fly shit, him not included. In interview pt 2 dude just be shooting shit off topic of the questions.
It sounded like a fuckn MTV cribs episode in text with him going on about his house fridge freezer etc bullshit.
He gonna get vault with many of dres imperfections.
Dre already looking forward to work with Kendrick Lamar, so stm is looking to be in the dark after detox.
Believe that.
-

slim ain't got the skillz....
U can say that again. He got a few videos on YouTube and shit is weak. Not hating one bit just stating the facts.
-
IMHO, Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle and Problem are more promising than this dude. He wasn't telling the entire truth in this interview, or any interview for that matter. He over exaggerates and lies a lot. I know this for a fact first hand. I don't know if he realizes it, or if he has actually convinced himself he is telling the truth ::)
