And for the record, I covered Pac's career on D.R. in depth since Ive been doing the Life After Death Row series so it was only right to do a touchup on him and give him his own personal dedication. Look for the stories on Tha Dogg Pound, Danny Boy, and Michel'le on Part III.

cool. i wonder was snoop gettin punked out like this. damn suge was doing niggas dirty.
-
there was also a rumor about mo preme getting punked for asking about his money. suge and them put that nigga out a hotel in his draws. LOL.
-
Whats crazy was that they asked Preme about what happened and how Suge was punking him.. He got all antsy at the interviewer asked about it too. lol
-
I don't read blogs at all, especially no 2Pac blogs, but this was an interesting read so props
-
Excellent read, great piece of work.

quote from blog "Death Row Records was what Tupac felt he needed at the time"
this is erroneous..........what happened was he needed to get out of jail and they offered to bail him out of jail....
he felt he needed to get out of jail at that time.......and he was hesitant at signing with death row...but he had to make a trade...
whoever wrote this blog got this part wrong....

he desperately wanted out of jail. no one (including interscope) wanted to bail him out. death row took advantage of pac being vulnerable at the time. and he sold his soul.

I had heard the same story except it was for Macadoshis instead of Mopreme lol
but the site I saw it from always had fake news reports

Pac will always be one of the more interesting conversations because there is so much heresay. You have these die-hard "Pac was perfect and created rap music and everyone that came out since is a cheap imititation" kind of fans and you have some of the more hardcore detractors. In terms of Death Row, it was eleven months of his life and we'll never know for sure where he would have gone if he'd been given more time. There is evidence to support just about every theory a person wants to make themself believe. One point that needs to be addressed with this blog was the comment Pac made about not being happy on Death Row. This was actually something that the producers of the Resurrection movie created by manipulating audio. Whether he was or wasn't actually happy is up for debate. There is quite a bit of evidence to suggest that at that point in his life, he was not happy but was Death Row the main source of that unhappiness? Who can say? There were a handful of interviews where he seemed to suggest that eventually he wanted to move away from the beef and try to be more at peace. That to me was one of the great things about Pac as an artist. There was a real conflict there. He really wanted certain things but the reality of it all was his lifestyle made that nearly impossible for him.
Another point I'd like to argue with this blog was the idea that Suge could only keep Pac's masters if he killed him. This is tremendously incorrect. Suge's contract with Pac actually gave him all of these things already. In fact with Pac dead, it opened up for every person who felt they had an interest in Pac's finances or music to come in and swarm like vultures.

Fatal summed it up best "Pac, they don't understand your pain, like your murder wasn't more than just Orlando Lane"

I wrote the blog and he did feel he needed a team because he was Vurnaible, He was a target in prison, New York Radio was dissing him and he was already a target in prison due to his reputation as a "gangsta rapper" so him signing to Death Row gave him freedom(bail) muscle(Which was Suge) and a team musically(Alongside Dre and Snoop) that he knew could go toe to toe with Bad Boy.

I remember Nate Dogg and OFTB on that Death Row Special saying that Pac wanted to get off Death Row bad but he seen that this was the hand that was feeding him and he was afraid to bite it. Nate himself said that was the reason why Pac did those album's so quick.
Pac's bodyguard claimed that Pac and Suge went at it days before the Vegas fight over money and that he had to come between them because he was afraid Suge was gonna put his hands on him.

Yeah, I remember that special. But you got to keep in mind that a lot of these interviews, whether it's TV or print, it's comments edited to tell a story a certain way. Like I said, it's hard to call.
The one thing you really have to put into consideration is this was 11 months of Pac's life (Death Row). He'd been shot, he'd been in prison in New York, and now, he was out. He was knee deep in a verbal and occasionally, physical war with lots of different camps. In that time, he was working all the time. He was smoking lots of weed, drinking, making music, shooting music videos, doing interviews, working on two movies, and making loads of public appearances. It would have been really interesting to see what might have been if he'd had time to kick back and reflect on things. I think he was getting there though.
-
From having Quincy Jones(Pac was engaged to his daughter) asking him to “fuck him in the ass”
What the hell?
-
Quincy Jones wanted to 2Pac to fuck him in the ass? WTF??? where did this come from?
There is a ton of speculation when it comes to both death row and 2Pac. It is pretty clear from the image painted through music and publicity that Pac just in general wasn't happy. He was a very emotional person. I don't think he was any more unhappy at death row, than any other point in his life.

anyone know why this dude said that about quincey......is there any truth to that....?

The bottom line is this:
What most people tend to forget about Tupac is that he gravitated towards so many people, and when he became involved with Death Row he put his 100 percent passion, energy and effort into that company.
Listen to that interview with Rob Marriot in August 1996. He's talking about distributing Makaveli Records through Death Row, the last session he had he is heard repeatedly repping Death Row. In that same interview, he speaks of Suge and him being some sort of kindred spirits, both of them pushing Dre off the label, complete control of the industry, etc.
Pac also delved into the gangbanging atmosphere of the label. Regardless of what people think of his "one love" or "gang unity" message in interviews or songs, he fully acted like an MOB Piru in every aspect. He got it tatted on the back of his right arm, started referencing swahili (a language used by Bloods), and ultimately got into it with the sects biggest rival - the Southside Crips.
Pac was NOT leaving Death Row.

This. Pac repped Death Row and Suge harder than anyone else on it. If he was unhappy surely he would've said fuck it and walked away like everyone else did.

After listening to that interview it's pretty obvious who Tupac was. He was a delusional idiot who created his own little world where everybody was out to get him. Dude was literally not right in the head by the time he was 25.

Professor Griff said that Quincy Jones created the homosexual rituals in Hollywood. He started talking about Pac and the rituals on this clip starting at 2:00 mark.

I read this a couple of times now
everybody's talking about an interview with tupac saying that.
I've read a lot of tupac interviews back in the day
and I was surprised, because I never heard that before.
Where is this interview from 96 where pac is saying that?
I can't find it
btw, on your blog you wrote this:
It was rumored that an infamous incident involving Tupac and the Death Row goons put the beats to him and gave him a brain tumor
correct me if I'm wrong
but as far as I know it's a scientific fact that you can't get a brain tumor from a beating
so that part is definitly wrong
-
As far as Pac being a "dilusional idiot", I think all true geniuses are a step out of reality. Here's a man who's been framed, robbed, shot, and sent to jail (all in that order) with absolutely no support system.
Biggie, although he didn't set him up, definately know about the hit (Bad Boy was being extorted by the real gangsters of NY) and failed to mention that to someone who helped him get in the game and really broaden his audience. Who wouldn't feel ultimate betrayal and want their rival completely removed from the game??
Say what you want, but I feel 'Pac in every aspect of that beef. Lets not forget that fat fuck waited til after 'Pac died to diss him.
-
biggy never dissed pac......
-
started referencing swahili (a language used by Bloods)
LMAO! this is truly classic!
-
^^ lol but check me out bruh, u gotta break it down for these ignant people. He was talkin that "enemiesss that try to C me, what it B like?" droppin lil jewels in his songs.
And who said biggie never dissed Pac?
"Slugs missed ya, we aint mad at cha"
"Now u restin with ya spirit above me
Or beneath me, your whole life u lived sneaky..
now u rest eternally sleepy, ya burned when ya creep me, rest where the worms and the weak be..."
"Hold ya toast shaky (reference to the NY theory that he shot himself in the balls), you slipped and tried to break me"
"Look what u made me do, my team in the marine blue, 6 coup"
GFOH sayin Pig never dissed Pac
-

Those are pretty ambiguous and could reference anything... literally. If you need me to dissect them one by one I'll do that but seriously.. common ::)
-
Biggie has a history of shooting sublimals. Throughout that whole Life after Death album, He was shooting at everybody from Pac, Jeru Da Damaja, Wu Tang, Nas, and all of them. Its just the NY way of doing shit. Even Lil Cease confirmed that he was talking about Pac on Long Kiss Tonight even though Puff would later deny it in that same article(It was the XXL issue of the making of Life After Death)
Puffy was popping shit on tapes as well about Pac. I remember hearing this on the Bad Boy 96 mixtape:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTvyKb-kV-A&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63QL-Zo1F78
Im not mad at them for firing back at Tupac because they had every right too.. I just hated the fact that they tried to play innocent in front of the camera while sneak dissing him on the low. Pac knew them niggas were firing back so thats why he kept on dissing them like he did.

Daz said that.. Not me, Thats why I quoted the interview and posted it on the page. Notice how I said rumored. Didn't say it was official.
-
Come on, if Nas can acknowledge the fact that "Kick In The Door" was a diss to him, how can u deny "Long Kiss Goodnight" was about Pac??
Common sense.
-
I agree that "long kiss goodnight"
was about pac......but simply talking about him is not dissing him.....in order to dis someone you have to " disrespect them clearly"
that song just mentioned pac it didn't disrespect him......so really big never dissed pac and that is a fact
-
in order to dis someone you have to " disrespect them clearly"
B.S. Plenty subliminal messages in the rap scene.
Thing with those tracks is that they didn't surface until after PAC died.
-
that is right ........a subliminal message is a subliminal message
it is not a diss
why do people have to be so dumb in this regard
-
that is right ........a subliminal message is a subliminal message

Really? You're the one that sounds dumb to me in this case man, no disrespect ;). You can diss someone without saying their name, you know that right?
-
The whole song Diddy is heard saying "you stupid muthafucka, I pray for you, you fucked with the wrong muthafuckas"
and Big's whole 2nd verse is aimed at Pac CLEARLY but because he didn't mention Pac's name he didn't diss him??? WTF is that.
Everybody loves to play the sympathy victim card with Big but tend to forget he popped off at the mouth too.
-
^^your an idiot
-
I'm an idiot??? Care to ellaborate on that one?
were on a west coast forum, I can't believe some of you guys are sitting here saying that BIG didn't diss him, when it was confirmed by Lil Cease. Pac was dead, BIG creeps out of the shadows and drops little sneak disses. That's a coward move.
-
calling someone stupid is not dissing them............if you think someone did something stupid then you can call them that...you are dissing there actions not the person themselves......on a rap song where 80 percent of the population or more has trouble understanding the words it is really hard to consider a real dis when the rapper doesn't even use the other guys name....remember in rap they say a whole lot of shit that doesn't make sense just cause it rhymes .....has a good rhythm and also sounds cool....i heard the tracks you are talking about ....and they clearly mention Pac.....but in an offhand way without disrespecting him......
