Knoc-Turn'Al Annnounces "01.11.11" (Single + Interview) - By : Rud - November 29, 2010

Last month we gave you the headsup that Knoc-turn'al was readying his third official album, the long awaited "Knoc's Ville" to be released on Hoopla Media Group/Treacherous Records.
Jayo Felony, Yukmouth and Crooked I were all listed as features on the new album and the single from that project is still set to be I've Been Here For Years with James Elizabeth - to which a video is being completed.
"Knoc's Ville" was orginally slated for a November 9 release and we posted the full tracklisting in our last update, Tracklisting Revealed For Knoc-turn'al's "Knoc's Ville", however it has since been pushed back to a January 11th, 2011. That move, and the new date itself as spawned a mixtape entitled "01.11.11" hosted by DJ Nik Bean & DJ Clean which is dropping right here for free download on December 8th.
From this new project we've been sent the lead single "Give Me The Night" which remakes - not samples - George Benson's classic 1980 version. The beat was created from scratch by Komplex & Knoc-turn'Al in the studio. Download/Listen to the track within the full "01.11.11" mixtape tracklist below

I got this other record by Shaunta featuring myself called “Mushrooms” that’s crazy. We were tripping out when did that record (laughs). It’s something we did over at Aftermath and it never leaked. Mahogany who produced “Bad Intentions” produced “Mushrooms” as well and will be leaking that sometime soon as well.

Yeah I have to agree. DJ Nik Bean is the absolute worst DJ I've ever heard when it comes to tagging and the fact that he's on this project means I'll be passing it up until there is an untagged.

Album throwaway, figured we'd give it to the fans. Knoc wanted 2 shot a video so we did that 2. We got plenty of that singing.

maybe it got mainstream potencial? you know , it got no curse words, its a cover version so it rings a bell?

As your in the know, why do artists put a dj on there mixtape when they can release it all over the net without one ?
I know alot of people out here do not like DJs on mixtapes but for alot of artists NEED DJs. I mean of course the role of a DJ has changed since the beginning of hip hop but these DJs help to brand the artist, radio and video placement, exposure, recognition, etc. It has only been recently people have been asking for more and more projects untagged so they are doing it. Almost like having a clean version and explicit of a album but for mixtapes, the DJ one is always gonna be first because they are the ones hosting and promoting the project.
Some of yall really need to stop with the over excessive bitching and complaining about that. Just contact the artist about it and in alot more cases they will release it.

Why not let someone else promote your project? Like a manager.. I know, it costs some money so if that's too expensive just promote yourself until you can afford a manager. I think many DJs working really unprofessional and it usually stimulates them only to put itself on the map, which makes sense.

No one would complain if DJ's/artists wouldn't be so stingy. Most mixtapes don't even come out untagged.

It's a option, but most artists will go with a DJ again because they can break singles on radio and get them the proper exposure they need for a project. Better them then trying to do it yourself. I do agree though unless your tape is done by Crazy Toones and a handful of others, have a untagged version handy.
