Why is Jay Z using pacs beat, lyrics, style on me and my girlfriend? After listening to these songs back to back, I dont understand why anyone would give this (Jay Z Version) song love. The only difference is Beyonce. Why is Jay getting away with this? Who allowed him to use the song? And why would Jay Z who was dissed by pac publicly even want to remake one of his songs? I'm at a loss for words on this. Maybe someone here can shed some light on why this song exists, let alone has a video getting air on mtv, and bet.

Yea I feel the same way. I lost pretty much any respect I had for Jigga as an artist after hearing that song. Yup!

Yer everytime this song comes on tv I say to whoever is with me that this fool had no right to use this song and considering 2pac didnt even like him I think its a discrace that he even considered using it.
Hope he does it at the concert I am going to in feb tho, shhhhhh!lol

* Jay-Z is a big Pac-fan, he's Pac-influenced, and he says "r.i.p. Pac" in a song or two, if I'm not mistaken..
* Pac never really had a specifc reason to diss Jay-Z, other than "B.I.G. affiliated".
* Pac hated anyone from the East more or less... and it created VERY MUCH free advertising for Pac.
* Suge clears ANY sampling, whoever it might be * CONSIDERING: That he gets paid good for it. Pac is still bringing thaRow $$$, and cleared samples means money in the register..
= Why do people even trip so much on this? Pac's legacy is being brought further to new generations, and it gives his family & record-company money.
What I do hate though, is when somebody like Irv Gotti & Ja Rule does this, and claiming to be the sequel to Johnny J & Pac..
Call it double standards, but Irv & Ja Rule is acting like they invented the style & sound, and think they're close to GOATS.
At least Jay-Z limits it to a commercial single..

^^^ Nah dude I'm sure Afeni controls all of Pac's work now so she would have to clear it, even though it still goes thru Suge Publishing also so he'll still get a cut of any royalties.
Also that just isn't true that "Pac hated anyone from the East more or less". It just seemed that way from the way the media portrayed it. That's what One Nation would have aimed to change.

Theres just no creativity in it. Shit is almost exactly the same. And I don't care what anyone says, the man said fuck jay z. He didn't say, oh, jay z runs with big, so fuck anyone with big, he called him out by name. If I was musically talented, the last person I would want to copy/sample would be the one that said fuck me. I like Jay. But I think this was retarded.
