Now does anyone remember what Lord Triesman said back in May?
This stinks of corruption, but Russia were due a major tournament. But fucking Qatar?!

This stinks of corruption
As long as I have a good time with the World Cup I couldn't care less about corruption.

Brazil in 2014 will be good, but I don't see myself going to neo-Nazi Russia or fuckin camel racing Qatar (where this  won't be allowed).

Chill, you'll be 11 years older in 2022. You might have a family and if watch it at home there shouldn't be anything about the World Cup that'll dissatisfy you... and if you do go there I'm sure you can have good time in Qatar with a beer in your hand :)

lol, oh well props for your positivity. At least you won't have to deal with English fans coming over in 2018 :P

That's true. If God exists he makes sure England won't qualify at all, so no one has to deal with those retards.
-
FIFA is a corrupt organization, russia is cool, they are a developing country with lots of cities and WC has never been there
but QATAR?? FML....fuck those bastards, they will be abusing the name of persian gulf for sure, those jealous bastards wanna call it arabian gulf and arab money speaks louder than anything else

u can drink in Qatar, only during ramadan its forbidden.

i knew it was going to be Russia & Qatar.
do all Russian football clubs play on 'plastic' pitches?

Haha, here's hoping!
I really wanna go to the 2022 world cup, would probably be amazing in Qatar. I'm sure they'll be building some space-age stadiums or some shit!

So Blatter and his kamarilla sold football for gas and oil money :-X Another nail in the coffin

unbelievable.... players and fans should boycott the Fifa...

Sepp Blatter is a fuckin tosser, still mad at this, it's blatant corruption and typical political bullshit and also the BBC need to own up for the fuck up with that Panarama shit.
-
.. Fifa committee loves money: Russia & Qatar - Massive oil reserves, England - Nectar Points ...

BBC needs to 'own up' for nothing. the BBC is (meant to be) an objective news source, so they're going to report on relevant issues. if you're going to say they shouldn't have had that Panorama programme so England would've had more chance of hosting the World Cup, you could easily use that line of argument in other things, e.g. a news company shouldn't report something about this presidential candidate so that he has more chance of winning the election. which of course is ridiculous.

If they do, all of the pitches would be replaced with real grass. Thats what they did for the Champions League Final in 2008.
-
I'm not mad at Russia but FUCKING QATAR? JEWS & ALCOHOL ARE A NO GO IN QATAR, RIGHT? lol what a joke. But apparnetly they'll allow alcohol in some fan zones ::) money money moneyyyy
Qatar gave Zidane 15mil euro's to represent them & for winning the bid, haha
what a fucking joke
Portugal/Spain, England, USA, Australia & Belgium/Netherlands also had bids for these two WC's

Gotta say that I feel that the English party were over confident. To me they just look like bad losers. Don't get me wrong, I'm annoyed that we haven't got it too but they should just get over it. The FIFA delegates wanted a World Cup where it hasn't been staged yet. Panorama had nothing to do with it.
-
LOL, Qatar? I understand Russia obviously but Qatar?

It makes sense for Blatter and the FIFA, not for the sport. They are basically selling World Cups, ebay-style.

What even goes into decision process for choosing the location for the World Cup? Admittedly I don't really know shit about Soccer, but it seems pretty obvious that there are MUCH larger markets that would certainly be interested.

I've calmed down a bit but if the rumours are true that a Fifa executive has phoned the FA this morning to say that basically we got knocked out in the first round because of the media, i thought this was supposed to be about football and the best place to hold it not about spitting dummies out and taking revenge.

Well there are enough Muslims in the area.
It's not that important if there are larger markets, they get 90% of the tv rights, add the sponsors who'll pay regardless of the location and the Fifa'll get more than enough. The most important thing, and this lead to this decision, is the question who does the most for the private bank account of the members of the comission. And obviously some camel fuckers bribed them the most.
I mean, no sane person would even think about a World cup there. Whatever the reason of their decision was, the interests of fans and players didn't count.

Qatar has some lovely sand dunes.......
-
FIFA is a corrupt organization
what a news :(
russia is cool
::)
-
It will also be way too hot for European players, some might have cardiac arrests acutally

February: Qatari Fifa executive Mohamed Bin Hammam says he'll block Sepp Blatter's bid for a fourth term in the 2011 elections: "The time has come. Fifa needs an Asian president."
• May: Sepp publicly backs Qatar's 2022 World Cup bid. "I strongly feel the World Cup should come to Qatar!"
• August: Bin Hammam says Sepp deserves a fourth term. "Let me be very clear. I will be backing Sepp Blatter to remain in office. He is my very good friend!"' (Sepp says claims of a deal are malicious. "I have most certainly not made any sort of deal with Qatar. How could I? As president of Fifa I would never misuse my office!")
-
hopefully Qatar will sink into PERSIAN GULF before the world cup and they'll give it to a euro country as back up
-
England were never going to win, i found it embarrassing when they dragged out Cameron and Prince William.
Its been clear for ages fifa want the world cup to go to places where there can be a legacy, who has the best stadiums/bid is irrelevant.
There was probably corruption everyone knows that but thats Englands fault for not playing the game the way everyone else was.
-
i like how just because england didnt win all of a sudden its a corrupt system and a conspiracy ::)
2 votes is hilarious tho ;D

the system has been corrupt for a long time but if england had won they wouldnt have said shit.

If England would have gotten it, people would have said "oh look, they get the World Cup because of the goal that didn't count vs Germany"

:-X

HAHAHA Qatar is so full of shit, they keep changing their word....first it was airconditioned stadium, now its somethng else...then it was move world cup to winter.....just give it up idiots, no one wants to go to that hot ass fake dessert
http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer
Qatar won the bid to host the 2022 World Cup by promising that its nine new open-air soccer stadiums would be air-conditioned. Now the Qataris have announced another cool twist to their hospitality -- an artificial cloud to hover above the stadium and provide shade.
The head of mechanical and industrial engineering at Qatar University said the cloud would be positioned by remote control and run on solar power.
Based on the design shown in local Qatari news outlets, the cloud isn't white and fluffy. It is flat and rectangular, resembling a giant cell phone, and will be built using light carbonic materials. Perhaps something was lost in translation from Arabic because the invention is more spaceship than cloud, but ultimately players and fans will benefit from the shade.
The cost of the cloud is $500,000, but money is no obstacle for Qatar, which is one of the world's richest countries thanks to vast natural gas and oil reserves.
There have been concerns about the heat ever since Qatar began its campaign in 2009 to pursue a World Cup. The average high for July in Qatar is 106 degrees, and temperatures have reached 120 degrees in the summer. That is one reason why Prince Ali of Jordan suggested shifting the 2022 World Cup from its traditional time in July to January, which is Qatar's coolest month with an average high of 71 degrees.
Temperatures were in the 60s for the 2010 World Cup championship match in Johannesburg, South Africa, held on July 11, between Spain and the Netherlands.
Qatar, which is roughly the size of Connecticut, will be the smallest nation to host a World Cup. The other finalists to host in 2022 were the U.S., Australia, Japan and South Korea.

I heard about this earlier and said near enough the same thing as you.

Fuck Fifa, have fun in the desert. You can keep your fuck tournament.I hope all stadiums remain completely empty. But the world cup is not for true football fans anyway, most tickets are for sponsors and companies anyway.
The direction is clear: casual people are no longer wanted.

ya man thats the feeling i get. Buying world cup tickets is such a hassle and u sort of have to be lucky to get them. There are so many rules and u have to dedicate a time to stand by the internet and then pay for everyone in the party and then collect it yourself and so on....makes u wonder who holds all the other tickets...must be all those companies
