Is anyone watching this fight on saturday???
I am, My boy Jean Pascal is gonna demolish the old man Hopkins
-
Definitely pullin for Hopkins...but damnit he's like 97 yrs old now.
-
^ LOL seriously, my question was gonna be "Hopkins is still fighting?"
-
This is gonna be a great, great fight.
-
gonna put some money on Hopkins, seems like a decent bet at his odds lol
-
Wha are they odds
-
Bernard is at +190 and Pascal at -250
-
So if i put 100 on Hopkins or 100 on JP How much do i win respectivly
-
Hopkins gives you 190
Pascal gives you 40
-
those odds arent that great then i can only make 90..
-
No, you're making 190 on top of your 100
-
Wow Pascal got some home cooking on those scorecards. Rematch in Vegas, make it happen, B Hop got robbed. >:(
-
Hopkins has visited the floor 2 times in the first 3 rounds, it hurt at the end. He dominated from 4 to 7 and maybe 10, 11.
-
I think it truly was a draw..
-
I still think Hopkins shoulda had an edge in the cards despite hitting the floor a few times. The knockdowns were questionable since that frenchie nigga hit him in the back of the head a few times.
Can't really complain about the judges though. I can see how this was declared a draw.
-
lol Hopkins took Pascal to school. Hopkins is ridiculous. The first knockdown WAS an illegal hit, obviously. And after rd. three he just completely took Pascal out of the fight. You could see Pascal was completely confused in the ring. Bernard got robbed.

missed this fight but i cant wait to watch it and let yall know my scorecard
-
there were a couple of rounds where Hopkins dominated so much, it should have counted as a 10-8 round

Rounds 1 to 4 or 5 was all JEan Pascal then 5 to 9 was all Hopkins, 10 saw Pascal come back and win that round.
IN round 11 i thought Pascal was done and round 12 well was close.
I think the draw was good and to win the title to me you have to clearly beat the champ.

End of the story.

Hopkins dictated the fight. Landed more jabs and landed more power punches at a higher percentage.

My bad. My blood was boiling at that moment lol.

And that, right there, is why boxing is in the gutter in terms of being an attraction. Of course, the lack of big money fights and match ups is a problem as well.
Anyone here about the white out controversy from the Hpkins vs. Pascal fight? Shits gettin fishy (no vaginosis).

The problem is, Hopkins dominated that fight. He controlled the pace entirely, threw more punches, landed more punches, and was the aggressor lol. Boxing politics didnt want a young and up-and-coming fighter to lose to an aging Bernard Hopkins. You cant just say you have to clearly beat the champ. Because Hopkins made Pascal look like an amateur in there and still lost. It doesnt help that the illegal punch to the back of the head got counted as a knock down. Ive watched Pascal fight before this. But he should not be proud of this fight. Hopkins was the better fighter. Pascal needs to get back in the gym and work on some things.
But yeah, the whiteout controversy was said to be a non issue by Golden Boy now. They say the whiteout on the scorecards was only on the cards given to the media. The original cards werent whited out. So the only controversy is the decision itself lol

You realy think he dominated tho??? I mean he dominated the second part of the fight for sure and you say Pascal has to work on something I think those things are the possibility of longer fights.

After the second "knockdown", which was in the 3rd round, it wasnt close. I look at a lot of different things. Punches thrown. Punches landed. Damage of punches landed. Who controls the pace. Etc. Hopkins won almost every category. Pascal started the fight off fairly agressive, and Hopkins took it from him. After the third Pascal became a cautious fighter. He had to resort to lunging punches and hoping for just one big shot that he couldnt land. Hopkins was never hurt. The first knockdown was without a doubt an illegal punch to the back of the head. The second knockdown i would count as legitimate, but it didnt faze Bernard. He was just off-balance. There were a couple times where Pascal looked hurt though. Particularly when Hopkins was working the body.

thats fair
