The Denver Broncos will give rookie quarterback Tim Tebow his first NFL start Sunday at Oakland, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Saturday.
AFC West blog
ESPN.com's Bill Williamson writes about all things AFC West in his division blog.
Tebow has taken most every snap this week in practice with starter Kyle Orton nursing bruised ribs. The Broncos' plan to start Tebow is based on his talents, the source said.
Tebow has made only cameo appearances this season and thrown just one NFL pass since former coach Josh McDaniels selected him in the first round of the draft in April following his much-celebrated career at Florida, where he won two national titles and a Heisman Trophy.
Tebow still has a long way to go in morphing from a college quarterback who ran the ball as much as he threw it into a prototypical pro passer.
McDaniels was fired Dec. 6 with the Broncos (3-10) in the midst of their worst slide in four decades and the Spygate II videotape scandal that embarrassed the foundering franchise.
Interim coach Eric Studesville insisted this week that Orton is still his starter but acknowledged Thursday that the quarterback situation was unsettled with Orton's status in limbo.
Orton, who has been sacked a career-high 34 times and thrown nearly 500 passes already, was in obvious pain at the podium this week but insisted that while he was sore, his arm wasn't the issue despite poor performances the past two weeks.
His bruised ribs, however, kept him on the sideline and allowed Tebow to get most of the first-team snaps for the first time all year.
Should be interesting lol..

I hope he doesn't complete a pass & throws at least two interceptions & a small bonus would be a season ending knee and/or shoulder injury.
He needs to show the World how overrated he was in college right off the bat.

2 TDs and 0 turnovers 100 QB rating

He's a hard worker who has natural talent and breaks his back to make things happen. Which is more than I can say for your boy, who gets life handed to him.

If Tebow was a speedy black QB you would only give him credit for his thrown touchdown.

Im pissed we didnt crush this faggot. His rushing TD was legit. The passing TD was just a prayer that should have been picked.

He's so bad. I can't wait for him to play a real defense & get absolutely destroyed.

A real defense? The Raiders are the 11th ranked defense (not bad) and the 6th best against the pass (your Jets are 10th :P)

He did better in that game than Brady would have.

Obviously. I know children with no arms that are better than Brady.

Yeah, but this guy can't pass. Didn't he have like 13 attempts? lol.
Put him against the Ravens & watch him get lit up; hopefully ending his career.

Seriously. The Denver offense is over with out McDaniels. Just look at how Orton did in his first game with no McDaniels. Under 50%, under 175 yards, no TDs, and 3 INTs. He looked worse than he did in Chicago, and this was against the shitty Cardinals defense. With McDaniels he was putting up Brady-like numbers. So when I say Brady would be shit on Denver, I mean it. I'm not just hating. Everything else I've said with regards to the Erhardt-Perkins offense has come true. This is based on solid evidence. I predicted the fall of Bledsoe, the rise and fall and rise of Cassel, and the rise and soon to be fall of Orton.
Tebow has legs, and that's the reason he has a chance at making a play with that shitty Denver offense. There system is gone and no system QB can succeed there right now. And Brady might be the best system QB of the last decade, but he's not much with out the system. Tebow, Manning, Vick, even Roth; are. Brady; not.
I'm not hating. If I was a coach with a team put in place and I had McDaniels or Wies as OC and a solid D and I wanted complete control, I'd take Brady over Manning, because I don't want my QB thinking he can tell me what to do. But if I was a new coach who was building a team and I wanted build a rep and keep my job for years to come no player in the history of the league would I take over the current Peyton Manning.

^& if you didn't have the right system, you wouldn't win a Superbowl.
Give me the system any day of the year, along with my rings.

But I wouldn't need Brady, or his 15 million dollar tag. I said if I had to choose between the two, with the perfect team like the 88 Niners. But I could win a SB with that team if I had half the starting QBs in the league.
With Manning all I'd need is a playoff bound team to stand a chance at a ring.

Some teams are just ASSUMED to be dominant D's because of their rep tho man.
Team sacks this year
Raiders - 40 (tied for 3rd in the league)
Ravens - 27 (tied for 19th in the league)

Sacking him & hurting him would just be a bonus for me lol.
I meant like him getting shutdown completely. The Ravens are 5th against the run, 15th against the pass; plus highly physical.
I see Tebow's numbers being like 2/8 21 yards, one interception, 4 rushes 10 yards lol.
Again, this is just me hating the fuck out of this guy lol.

I know what u mean man. I cant stand that muthafucka much myself. Im just sayin, the Ravens have been an amazing D in the past. And they still have the reputation. But they arent so dominant anymore. The Raiders would probaby be more likely to take him out than the Ravens, with our front 4 being one of, if not the best in the league. Now I WOULD like to see Tebow throw a pick...becoming a defender trying to make a tackle on the ball carrier...and be dealt an unexpected block from say...Jerome Harrison or somebody lol.
