G-Spot is prolly the most active section on this site. TOT is useless though.
not so much any more cause i think most of the most active users there have branched off to another forum. but there would still be a similar forum, just that any train of thought style topics could also go there. my overall idea would be to squeeze out most of the nonsense, non-music based discussion and expand it into three main music boards. and then mod those boards hard to keep them clean of the normal trolling/argument type posters. after a while some better quality posters might start appearing, especially with detox dropping and if people are forced to sign up to leech links.
i remember when i first signed up to the dub i thoroughly enjoyed having some good conversations about music with the other members. the mods were more relaxed on the rules back then and people could post whatever they wanted in the g-spot. i don't know when it happened but when the mods went on their power trip is when dubcc as a community died. the forum itself is still alive but it's a far cry from how great this forum once was. we now have mods who pull unwritten laws out of their ass for their excuses to their actions.
do you really think the "quality" posters are going to come back if you mod harder? that's the whole reason a grip of people have left.

I agree. This place went from an online community where people could discuss music, sports, politics and other things to just another fan site. This January is the 10th anniversary of Dubcc so it's been a hell of a run. I'm hoping shit pops off in the new year, but it's looking grim.

In real life I'm inclined to agree with you. I was actually just about to say something like that.
If it's really all that bad (y'all've been saying that for so long now) then just leave. Son, nobody cares. This site is more of a social function for a select few people. It's obviously not anything major otherwise they would've been past this whole California thing by now. This site should be way bigger than it is if it's supposed to be the TRUE HOME of WESTCOAST Music and not just some picture site with an interview from some nigga from CALI that'll probably never make it anyway.
That's the problem with your "coast", it's all Cali, Cali gets boring after a while, what about Washington or Oregon, waddup wit Arizona or Nevada, shit, even Idaho. You'd figure the platform they have and connects that they have it would be Heaven over here but instead it's just a secret society for a chosen few. I guess niggaz are really that lazy.

And yes, over the years there has been entertainment in the G spot. But I would never just come to this forum for the g spot. Get rid of the WC music section and I would never come back. Hell you can get rid of every section other than the WC music section and I would be fine with it.
What I don't get is why you guys have to continuously come back to this forum, whine, and create aliases, and make stupid threads. exposed myself? i already made it clear i was the one making the suggestions to change the site around in the original quote. and that's all it was, one person's suggestions. but why not be specific, who exactly are you talking about, and how many people who have been here since before 2004 that are actually still posting? i don't get why the emphasis needs to be the same as in 2003 if there is minimal traffic coming from anything else aside from music discussion. if certain mods have pissed some people off by stuff going on in this forum and they've left, then it's done, in the past. unless they really want to come back for socializing on here?
and the comment still stands, why not put your thoughts down in the thread on the mod board, where the owners might actually read it and listen, than whine in here? or just call me some more names :P

First off, Matty, don't act like I didn't make my feelings known in the mod section before this thread was even created. You should know, you responded to it. Or is it that I'm not allowed to voice my opinions in a public section of the forum now? Do I need your permission?

First off, Matty, don't act like I didn't make my feelings known in the mod section before this thread was even created. You should know, you responded to it. Or is it that I'm not allowed to voice my opinions in a public section of the forum now? Do I need your permission?

- Remember that this forum is based off of user generated content. Whether anyone wants to admit it, the West Coast, and Hip Hop in general is in a pathetic state. One of the few things keeping these boards popping is the members who contribute outside of the music sections. Running off all of the quality posters will bury this place very quick. It's on life support as it is.

I come here first and formost to read and contribute news/leaks/sharing knowledge about West Coast Music. That's my idea of community and I've always appreciated the dubcnn/dubcc combo - the forum is a great counterpart to the news site. I like to post some friendly shit/PM's with the cool guys on here but I'm talking bout people who share my interest with the music not ones that post offensive shit/troll constantly.
In regards to what to do about all the crap on here (and I see it as part of the general hater culture that's manifested online and not exclusive to this forum) is for the mods to be active in banning/suspending peoples accounts for the shit they post (and in sigs etc). In my opinion deleting posts/threads and shit just wont work in the long term. Dubcc has a set of forum rules, and if people aren't being kicked off for direct personal attacks (something we all see daily) and offensive shit then there's no hope for running the forum as dubcnn (as a brand) sees it should be.

The forum isn't a brand, it's a branch off. The main site is the brand. A forum is meant for unfiltered discussion and it was that till the moderators started getting all uppity about their jobs. If I was to approach a rapper and say I'm a moderator on DubCC, they'd laugh at me and say who and if I changed a few letters - they'd be like when can we do the interview? This forum is inconsequential to the main site, otherwise everything on the main site would be about the Dogg Pound or Dr. Dre's biceps.

come on, you can't just justify people posting nonsense/abusive comments because topics don't fit with a particular idea of what 'quality music discussion' is. there shouldn't be 'trolling' in the music sections, period. it isn't like there is a whole load of new west coast music popping off. if people want to be 'nerdy' about it and talk about death row etc, they should be able free to do it without being hassled by those who don't. this isn't anything out of the ordinary and about being serious or not, just showing some common respect and not trying to wind each other up.
