Title: 319 consecutive passes..
Post by: Chamillitary Click on December 27, 2010, 10:26:50 AM
& NO INTERCEPTIONS?!? & you guys say he still isn't good?

It's kinda, sorta a record. Meaning nobody else has done it. Not Elway, not Marino, not Montana, NOT MANNING.

For someone who "isn't good", that's pretty impressive.

..& it's not over..

Finally, he's one pass better than Bernie Kosar. Though Kosar finished a season not throwing INTs and then started the next one doing it. So Brady still needs to wrap up this season and then continue into next year if you want him included in the Kosar discussion. I fully expect Cassel to break it next year.

I stopped taking it seriously the second it was 3rd and short at the end of the game against Indy and Brady threw a duck right into the hands of Angerer. Just because the mlb didn't make the easy catch doesn't mean Brady didn't make a bonehead Favre-like throw. INT stats are BS, always have been. The numbers don't distinguish between bad decisions and poor throws or dropped INTs. They also don't tell you if it was a very catch-able ball that the WR tipped up, or whether it was an INT that the WR broke up.

I simply watch him play and I don't see him doing anything that Matt Cassel isn't doing. And I've never said Cassel was in the Peyton discussion either. Rodgers is getting close though.

Yeah, it must be Goodell telling those defenses to drop balls. It's a conspiracy.

INTs show you who wins Superbowls. *CUE TRACY PORTER!*

His passer rating is reflective of his o-line, pass attempts, yards and short fields. Peyton has nearly 1000 more yards and 200 more attempts, yet a higher completion percentage, way less time in the pocket, way less yac, way less wide open guys, way worse field percentage, and still he had the greatest bootleg run of the season. And he'd have a way better haircut too if he invested in the Bosley Institute like Princess Tom. Dude's hair was thinning last season and now it's thicker, longer, and doesn't seem to get wet from the sweat. The guy is a queer. I hope some middle eastern oil tycoon offers each QB to switch teams for next year so we can finally see what I've been able to see for years; Cinderella Tom's chariot turn back into a 4-12 pumpkin. He'd be on the bench by the end of the season.

Brady is a boss, I've never liked him but he's definitely having an MVP caliber season.

But none of that changes the fact that he has terribly thrown the ball into coverage several times during this streak and the defense just wasn't able to make the play. The issue here is how well Brady is protecting the ball, and that 319 stat is all bluster. 3rd and short, only up by 3 and in your own territory and Brady throws a ball right into the hands of the Colts middle line backer. It was a worse throw and decision than anything Manning had done in that "slump". MVP, my ass.

Eh, the kid woulda just ate off him for the rest of his life. Bragged around that the greatest person on Earth was his father.

Tom made the best move. Well, the second best move. Abortion first, always.

I hope Matt Cassel marries Bridget Monyhan, and little Jet Cassel one day makes the NFL and thanks his "real Father" for helping him make it to the league, and his coach Manning for helping him overcome his natural inabilities.

Tom Brady said in a press conference that the "MVP" award is silly in a game that's such a team sport; basically just a QB award because there are so many great players that don't get the recognition. Then went on to say Vick & Peyton are highly deserving because they are more important to their team. Wrapping it up by saying, it's nice, but I'd rather have a ring.

YOU COULD NOT DESIGN A BETTER HUMAN BEING!

Until he admits he'd be 3-13, with more INTs than yards, on the Colts, I won't give him any credit.
