Aftermath has been very silent for the last 5 weeks .....What is brewing ?
-
Eminem, Justin Bieber & Lady Gaga have over 250 million views on their singles; do you think they're happy? lol, probably not.
But unless Dre does a song with all three artists I named above on the same track, he'll never see those numbers.
It's a dope song, I fuck with it; as far as the charts go, it's an average single.
Bring on the album, Dre.
-
Dont forget its been advertised all over vevo. Pretty poor if you ask me but its a dope song.

no he won't, he had Akon on the single & it didn't come close.

have I misread your post or are u basically saying having Akon on the single is the same as having Eminem, Lady GaGa and Bieber on your single? if you are, then you are seriously over rating Akon's popularity
-
I think that's a pretty good viewcount for a month, considering that Dre's name isn't as big as it once was.

I agree singles are nice but the album is whats most important

If Dre is smart when it comes to these things (and he usually is), he'll concentrate on the whole body of work rather than having that number one single. Example is Kanye's latest album. No hit single but great reception from the public and professional reviewers. Basically the album speaks for itself.

EDIT: lets dont forget the video is blocked in alot of countries so that would have add some more views...
-
lol so this 50 track with Jeremih got more hits than the second coming?

I say dre is looking good in his tight leather pants.........only thing missing is he needs to cutout the ass cheeks..
-
I am over the video and song at least by 2 weeks. I am looking for the next new shit.

Yea and that's the reason artist are always tryin to drop shitty Buzz tracks instead of takin time to make real music. ;D
-
For a album that has/ has had the hype like Detox, it's failing HARD.
-
Dre should do a weekly series and just drop random shit from his vault
-
It's a wack ass single. Lacks energy. Doesn't feel authentic. It's cliche and formulaic. Feels like some studio head or some washed up fan hear said Throw snoop on the single, IT HAS TO HAVE SNOOP! Yet, the same people will have dismissed Dre's embracing of Eminem.
Dr. Dre always shines best while highlighting new talent.

i'm saying Akon is on it (a big name) & it's not a top single ( yet).
big names don't translate into a certified hit.
-
Kush is wrong for first single maybe this is a street single then ?
-
10 years? Every rapper, producer and singer has mentioned it?
Yup.. certified fail..
-
West Coast fans, they always complain... if you want zero support, go to California!

would be a great idea from lots of angles, but isn't gonna happen :-\
makes you wonder whether these other leaks could be semi-deliberate tho.

Dre never had a #1 single, if we talk about his albums.
His best single was Nuthing but a G Thang, which was at #2 in 93.

The Singles don't reflect the album sales!
Apart from that none of Dre solo albums was a #1 album. The Chronic had his peak position at #3 and 2001 at #2 .

true, Still DRE peaked at #93 but the album went 6x platinum

Someone needs to get into dres vault, connect a big ass hard drive up and leak that shit.

Why? I assume Dr.Dre only release the stuff he is happy with, and if "Kush" is mediocre, I can only imagine what quality his unreleased stuff is...
-

yes, the only chance for us to hear that. Dre only releases 0,5% of all the music he's recording. Picture what gems are in the 99,5% that rest in the vaults forever
-
10 million views is alot but its free to watch the video will they pay the 10 dollars to download or buy the CD?

well he's insecure about the direction, doesn't mean that the quality sucks.

So what's going on with Detox? Any news?
Maybe the machine aka Interscope isn't happy with the Kush results...
This reminds me of the Guns N Roses situation. It took them 15 years + to record "Chinese Democracy" and it flopped sales wise.
I'm starting to wonder if the same thing might happen with Dre. His fanbase (except us) has grown up--so who knows.
If they want a Feb. 2011 release, like they've been saying, they better drop a new single pretty damn soon.
