It'll be interesting to see what Griffin pulls off. He's sorta been like LeBron in the sense that he hasn't shown that much creativity with his in-game dunks, the notable exceptions being the one he did against Detroit on Stuckey and the one against the Knicks over Gallinari.
That said, we've seen Griffin in dunk contests prior to his NBA career which he dominated, and it'll be hard to imagine anything different this time around. LOL at this list of contestants, athletic as they all are, the fact that nobody really cares to see any of these guys in the dunk contest already hurts their chances

Yeah the Slam Dunk competition is lame these days. They need to have more superstars involved. Lebron and Blake going at it would be good though.

Griffin is a BEAST. If he wins, I can see it being because of his power on his dunks. Call me biased...but I really dont like seeing bigmen in slam dunk competitions. He is 6'10". I have always hated it cus its so much more impressive to watch a crazy dunk from some guy who is 6'2" or somethin.

lebron was all talk for a few years, then he wanted a bunch of other superstars who won it to enter again, basically being full of excuses

NBA fans need to unite & just not watch the dunk contest.
You need MILLIONS of people to bitch or complain or they will just throw the same people at us.
But in actuality, is it really the lack of star power? Sure, Vince Carter & Dr. J & Jordan & Dwight put on shows for us, but that's because they were also ridiculously athletic.
All I'm saying is, you can have Kobe, LeBron, Dwight & Iguodala, but if they don't do anything that we haven't seen, it doesn't improve it. This country is built off of progression & a bunch of superstars replicating dunks from 1985 isn't going to make it a great contest.
What we need is creativity, not star power; if all your complaining is that you don't get enough stars is just saying that the star power will make up for the fact they aren't doing anything.
Creativity > Superstars; there is nothing Kobe can do that Gerald Green can't, they are both equally athletic. & even if you want to say Kobe is more athletic, still, it isn't that much a difference for a dunk contest.

LMAO @ this squad. NBA is just pathetic right now and so is the dunk contest which is really became a complete joke. Like the dude said above - it's a celebrity contest. The most popular player wins it. This McGee dude should won doing an attempt of dunk from half court wearing a captain america costume - then we would been witnesses of the 2nd coming of superman who jumps high, throwns a ball in the basket and wins a DUNK contest. LOL - pro b-ball sucks major dick these days.

its nice to see griffin in dunk contest, the major stars dont participate cuz there isnt money in it. Back in the day jordan and them did it cuz of the fans and the excitement of the all star weekend. Now days nba players are super stuck up and money whores, they dont care.
