I thought this was Biggie Smallz when I first saw this thread. I never heard there was another Biggie but this is dope! It got that classic Johnny J sound! Im feeling it! Would have been dope though for Notorious B.I.G. to have had a record with Jonny J I would love to hear that! anybody know if there is one??
-
damn.. the memories.. Biggy was my labelmate. 8)
our former manager won the case against BBE and Biggie became B.I.G.
funny thing is after all that.. Biggy eventually changed his name to Shadowcast.. lol
On another note: I don't remember Johnny ever playing a track he produced that I didn't like.

thanks very nice

there's actually a video for that cruisin' track, they used to play it on 'the box' back in the day,and dude is white...i remember he first came out winning an on air rap battle a couple weeks in a row on power 106 back in the day, it was a rap battle thing they used to have on the radioevery week night back in like, 91'....don't ask me why i remember all this shit, i just do

wait a minute, is Biggy Smallz (Shadowcast) dead or alive?
cause there was this rumor going around that he died and pac/stretch dedicated "God Bless The Dead" to him
it would be strange if the song was actually about Notorious BIG
because stretch didn't record anything with pac after the 94 shooting
-
Biggy Smallz was murdered in 1994 outside of a liquor store - that's why 'Pac and Stretch dedicated "God Bless The Dead" to him.

If that isn't about that fat fuck from New York (no pun intended), I have been mistaking about that "God Bless The Dead" song for years.

thanks, never heard these before
Damn that If There's a Cure bassline is classic.
yeah, so many rap songs have it

Chuck.. sounds like you're describing "Friday Nite Flavas" on Power..
Also.. Tim Bigelow aka Biggy Smallz aka Shadowcast is still alive and well,
2Pac certainly was not referring to Tim (Biggy Smallz) on that record.
-
watch the live squad dvd the tribute, they show the real biggie smalls in there he was murdered in 94 & pac dedicated that track to him...he was even uglier than notorious big haha...

thanks for clearing that up sheist

the only explanation that makes sense is that there is a third guy called Biggie Smalls
did they mention anything about him being a rapper?
maybe that real biggie smalls dude isn't a rapper at all

Shade big STretch who was on the song died in 1995 wayyy before Pac or Big (of bad boy)
it had to have been someone else
-
i never realized there was a feature on that record,
but it isn't one I remember playing often..
it would make sense then for Pac to be referring to a mutual friend..
