(AllHipHop News) West Coast Hip-Hop veteran and Lench Mob recording artist WC has launched Big Swang and is planning to release a brand new album this Spring titled Revenge of the Barracuda.
The rapper, who launched his career as part of the group Low Profile in 1989, went on to form WC and The Maad Circle (which included Sir Jinx, Coolio and DJ Crazy Toones) and the Hip-Hop super group West Side Connection, with former group members Mack 10 and Ice Cube.
The first official single through a deal between his Big Swang imprint and Entertainment One Music is the track "You Know Me," featuring Ice Cube and Maylay.
"It feels good to the joint venture with eOne because I get the chance to continue to do what I do best, and that’s being a street artist making records for the streets," WC told AllHipHop.com in a statement released today (January 18th).
The deal reunites WC with industry promotions vet Shadow Stokes, VP of National Urban Promotion at Entertainment One Music.
“It’s an honor and privilege to be working with WC once again! We made history together at Payday Records with “Curb Servin” and “The Shadiest One,” Stokes said in reference to the group's 1995 second and final release, Curb Servin'.
"He is a true staple in the West coast hip-hop community and eOne is looking forward to making more history with WC on this new album,” added Stokes.
Revenge of the Barracuda is slated to be released on March 8th, 2011.

Not sure, but in the begining the article claimed he was still a Lench Mob recording artist. Maybe it will be a joint venture. If not though Im cool with it cause E1 usually does a good job with handling albums and we know that him and Cube are still down so that wont change anything.

He is still signed to Lench Mob as a artist. This E1 deal is for his label Big Swang. To help it get off the ground, why not put out a solo album through them to start. He can't just off the bat drop a Maylay or Tha Trapp album cold with no buzz.
