Title: Tom Brady MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Post by: Shallow on February 06, 2011, 07:13:10 PM
First player ever to get 50 out of 50 votes, and these clowns voted after seeing his horrible performance against the Jets. Meanwhile the real MVP Aaron Rodgers just capped off a Superbowl win. I'm starting to question the 4 Peyton has, after giving Brady the first ever unanimous award.

they voted BEFORE the playoffs started

but it was a bogus pick, clearly Jerricho Cotchery was better

I know the vote is based on before the playoffs, but they took a hell of a long time to announce it. Which tells me the vote probably came in right after the Jets loss and they didn't want to make it look worse by giving him the award right after he showed the world why doesn't even come close to deserving it.

When it's all said and done, not even counting playoffs, it should have been Aaron Rodgers. And had he played for GB against NE then the Pack would have walloped the Pats and it would have been obvious.

More hardware. & unanimous too. That counts for two awards, in my opinion.

GOAT.

An actual goat at QB against the Jets would have given the Pats a better chance. I mean at least a billy-goat can run fast and break tackles. I bet it can throw a better fade route too. Shit, I can throw a better fade route.

I can see Brady winning it. I cant see how he could win it unanimously. The MVP is the most valueable player. In other words, which ONE player would hurt their team the most by not being there. Brady is up there for sure. But this year, is he really much higher than Rivers? Rodgers? etc. And I hate Rivers! Again, Brady could win...but for not ONE person to vote for any of these other guys is crazy.

Clearly the people who vote on these things are highly intellectual Football minds. They know what they're talking about. Tom Brady deserves the next four MVP awards.

I didnt say he doesnt deserve it. Just saying it shouldnt have been unanimous. Again, I hate Rivers...but if you took him off the Chargers this year theyd probably have the first pick in the draft next year.

lol, I understand. I'm just being a dick. :P

But on a serious note, the Chargers didn't even make the playoffs. In the end he wasn't that valuable to his team; not enough to get them to the playoffs.

The QB position is the most valuable. I mean, if you took Matt Ryan off the Falcons or Eli off the Giants or Flacco off the Ravens & the list goes on & on, that team would suck.

I mean Brady went 36-4, broke the record for most attempts without a pick. It was an amazing season. The Pats overachieved at 14-2; nobody had them going like that. Vick would have been a decent pick, but maybe that dog shit pushed people away from voting for him. Even though it's fucked up, maybe they didn't want this guy to come back & then just dominate the league. It's not the best look for the NFL.

So if it came down to Brady or Vick, everybody just decided it was Brady.

I just think it's silly that all the years prior to this there there was no unanimous winner but the one year they decide to do it the guy shows how valuable he really is when it counts. This was a clear cut case of a QB playing below the level of his team. They made him play like an MVP and he showed the world he can't. The lines didn't break down, the defense didn't give up bad plays, the special teams wasn't letting up big run backs and missing kicks. They simply said "ok Tom, you think you can throw the ball like Peyton Manning? Show us!" and that's what he did. The game was pretty even all day except 1 QB simply could not make the throws, and don't mean just a few. His whole fucking career when he has to make tough throws he falls way short.

And value my ass, just like I said in 08 they'd go 11-5 with Cassel, I'll say they would haven't 11-5 with Hoyer. And I'm as sure as I can be that they protected this bitch again by announcing it on SB Sunday rather than right at the start of the playoffs, when they usually do. Why wait this year? Because they wanted to see him win it on the same day he tied Montana's 4 SBs, but when he fucking choked against the Jets they didn't know what to do, so they tried to hide it in the frenzy of Superbowl Sunday.

It's a hell of a league in 2010 when a scrub like Brady gets 50/50 and a stud like Rodgers can't even get enough votes for a pro-bowl.

^If you say he choked, I believe you. You MUST know from prior experiences with other QBs.

Nope. Peyton never once was outplayed by his team in a pllayoff loss. Not a single one of those losses. Brady was clearly playing below the level of his team this year in January. Most of Peyton's playoff losses he outplayed his team twice over, maybe three times. That's not a choke. It's like two boxers facing eachother while one has to box from his knees. From hiss knees Peyton still loses most fights by decision against other QBs. If you ever let him stand up he fucking kills you by the 2nd round.

Especially when he looked bad against a Jets team that wasnt really that amazing this year anyways.

So much hypothetical talk. We should start rewarding people based off of our imaginations. With you guys, it doesn't matter if there is a lockout next season, we'll just play out the season in our heads. We'll trade players & we'll bring back retired players, dead players, future players, integrate animals into the league. I'm excited for next season.

I said when Brady has to make tough throws he's less than mediocre. I said it years ago, and every time it happens I'm right. Nothing hypothetical about that. Tom Brady was simply not as valuable as a few other QBs this year. This isn't a most TDs or least INTs or both award. This is an importance to the team award, and Tom simply wasn't as important to Pats as Vick was to the Eagles, Rodgers was to the Pack, or Peyton was to the Colts. The Pats easily could have won the division and lost in the first playoff game with Hoyer. It's a very probably reality. Where as if you look at the level of play that Vick, Manning, and Rodgers showed you can make a much stronger argument for their value. All you have to show in Brady's case are numbers. Numbers never tell the whole story.

The day they don't give an award to stats, you PM me & let me know. ::)

Peyton & the Colts had an average year; if they win 14 games too, he woulda gotten some votes. Rodgers missed two games (basically ruins his chance at the award). I understand Vick is valuable, I acknowledge that. However, like I said, the league might have not wanted him to win it.

& we're also getting away from the fact Tom had an amazing season. It's a regular season award. It basically is a most TDs & least INTs award. Because you don't usually have the most TDs & the least INTs; especially not 36-4. Don't act like your ass wouldn't be in here still bitching if the Pats won every game in the playoffs 28-0 & won a ring last night lol. Now that Brady lost to an amazing defense, it's just fuel for your fire.

I'm not saying I expected anyone else to win, but I wouldn't have voted for a lot of past winners. But McNair tied with Manning in 03 and he was very valuable that year despite not being on top in any category. I mean Emmit Smith won it once and he was easily never as valuable a RB any year as Barry Sanders.

This is more than just a QB thing with Brady. This is a poster boy for the non-fans thing. They use this guy to sell merch and raise viewership to girls and yuppies who don't even watch Football. And they protect him well. So, here's to an Aaron Rodgers 3-peat!
