Title: Best Newcomer From New York?
Post by: MistaNova on February 13, 2011, 04:41:52 AM
Okay I realise that most of these acts have been in the game for a minute and that none of them look capable of bring New York back, but out of all who's the best MC?

Realistically out of this list, in terms of sales, Charles Hamilton; even though Saigon is a far superior rapper.

But if Saigon & Papoose are on this list, then my real choice has to be Joell Ortiz. I mean, the Shady deal will be hit or miss, but we'll see.

Charles Hamilton seems pretty fucked up, cant see him releasing shit anytime soon. Joell with the shady deal or even cory gunz with lil wayne pushing him.

^True about Charles. But if he ever did, he has the most marketing ability out of this group. I remember "Brooklyn Girls" actually made some noise around here.

Mickey Factz gets love around here & isn't Cory Gunz with Young Money? So I mean, I guess he always has the potential to get big too.

Could be a little bias mostly because I hear about these guys more, but I don't know if I can agree with that.

I like most of the young guns on the West, but Joell, Saigon, Papoose & Charles Hamilton are better in my eyes. I like pure spitters though so I guess that plays into my opinion; rappers on the West kinda like rock with the beat, not really own it lyrically.

I mean, at the end of the day, I don't see any of these young guys California or New York becoming anything too big, so I guess it doesn't really matter lol.

Yeah. That's the bad thing about some New York guys, like Lloyd Banks; he makes albums & most of it sounds like some mixtape spitting.

If you're talking about the usual dubcc suspects, only Bishop is really any good at songs with a concept.

Most definitely. They aren't the "usual dubcc suspects" though. And Zion I aren't anything close to newcomers. If those are the only newcomers you can come up with tho its not a good look for the west coast.
