i recently purchased the single cd version of this song and everywhere i look on the internet and even on the tracklisting of the actual cd it says that track one is the compton criminal mix ( the regular version heard on muthaphukin streets) and track two is a remix, the ruthless G remix but it is in fact just a censored version of the song. am i missing some subtle differences ? should i listen again? i just wanted a copy for the remix but now i feel like i wasted my money. also, the sippin on a 40 cd single supposably has a remix of just tah let u know on it but i am hesitant about buying it now that this happened. anyone know about that one? its called " just tah let u know DJ U-Neek's Phat Sac Remix" any info is greatly appriciated.

The "DJ U-Neek Phat Sac" remix is the one that is most often consiered the remix. It has a different beat and the "laid back as I blow a phat sac" line repeats as it fades out. As you said, the "Compton Criminal Mix" is just the unedited version. Why they chose to call it that, I don't know. It's kind of like how the unedited version of "Luv 4 Dem Gangstaz" was called the "Funky Street Mix," when there was no difference in the beat, it was just unedited.
Also, before you buy the "Sippin' On a 40" single, you may want to ask the seller if the "Just Tah Let U Know" Phat Sac Remix on there is the Dirty or Clean version of the song. Because on my "Sippin' On a 40" single it is the clean version, even though the "Sippin' On a 40" track has a dirty version on the single. Not sure that was the case with every version of the "Sippin' On a 40" single though, as there is a Dirty version of the "Just Tah Let U Know" "Phat Sac Remix" floating around the net that had to come from somewhere.

fuckin dope i really appreciate this info and for gettin back at my question so fast. thanks. yeah its kind of a fucked up marketing plan to label your shit remix when its no different than the original.

it was common in the early 90's, an edited/unedited version became a "Street Mix" or "Vibe Mix" sometimes
