Title: Where's a Good Place To Order CD's (Aussies)
Post by: Eddz on February 23, 2011, 12:11:58 AM
Hey, just wanted to ask the fellow Aussies on here where you guys order your CD's? I've always used cduniverse then switched to amazon because they are cheaper. It seems to take forever to receive CD's from amazon (took over 2 months to get Daz's latest album) & cduniverse are starting to get slow too.

Anyone know any other places to order from?

Do you buy new or used & if new how much do you normally pay?

both of em.

For a new one 15-20 $ and post

But someday you can get some unopened album about 1 cent.

Thanks. I might start checking e-bay out more. I'm sick of waiting 2 weeks plus for my cd's to come  :(

Buying used CD's is much worse than downloading.

I try not to download them cause I look forward more to the actual cd coming  8)

It took me over 2 months to get Daz's latest album from amazon, I was actually thinking of going digital but can't bring my self to do it  ;D

Yeah I can understand that, since I moved from Christchurch I haven't had a proper stereo so everything ends up on the iPod anyway for me lol

Buying used CD's is much worse than downloading.

Why?
Because none of that money is going out to the artists.
when you download no money is going out.

I always use cd universe or mostly amazon myself. e-bay sometimes.
With amazon i find if i pay for the middle shipping choice, the 2nd most expensive i get my cds hell quick, like 2 weeks or less. but if u pay the cheapest it dose take 6-8 weeks.
Just spend like $10 more an u get quick.

Cduniverse used to be really quick, my orders would come within the week. I just ordered Saigon's & Joell Ortiz's new albums so I'll see how long it takes but now I'm wishing I paid extra for shipping like I have before.

If I can find a used cd that is a good price I'd buy it too & if it's OOP you don't have a choice.

If you download an album the artist and getting anything at least the used cd has been purchased once  ;)

How do you think albums get on the internet? Magic?
People buy the albums, rip them and upload them.

If it's out of print you can download it for free no harm done.
But with the money you have no saved you can actually support an artists.

Or you could get the CD, and bump it on a great system. :monkey:

you could also burn the album onto an empty disc and get the same result.

IMO go to party, or concert is the perfect way supporting the artist.

I buyin albums for myself, for my collection, not for supportin someone.
