Post by: Mo Z. Dizzle on February 23, 2011, 11:54:28 PM
Clippers trade Davis for Williams (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ArfU8h94oZiJSB8MnK85iLm8vLYF?slug=ys-daviswilliams022311)

The Los Angeles Clippers have reached an agreement in principle to send Baron Davis(notes) to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Mo Williams(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Cavaliers will also get an unprotected 2011 first-round pick from the Clippers while sending back forward Jamario Moon(notes).

clippers just got robbed like little bitches. who trades a 2011 lottery pick for moon?!

davis is gonna kill himself. he finally got motivated playing next to a living highlight movie, and now he's playing next to a living trash can.

clippers just made the worst move in nba history. not even the twolves gm, mchale or khan, has ever done anything this ridiculous.

"yeah lets just wait til baron finally gets in shape and starts clicking with the rest of the team, and once he wins back all his fans we'll TRADE HIM for a 3 point shooter who cant even shoot anymore. we'll throw in a 1st round draft pick too!"

fuckin retards. i dont care how weak this draft class is, you dont throw in a 1st round draft pick just to unload baron davis, not when he's finally playing on a high level. i really wish the nba would kick sterling out of the league

I may be stretchin here...but why didnt they handle this earlier and get Deron Williams or Bibby?

deron would've been a huge stretch, it might not seem like utah got much for him but new jersey gave up TWO first round picks along with a good prospect in favors... even though utah does not need anymore power forwards.

but bibby is a better shooter than mo will, and clips could've probably swapped baron for him srtaight up without giving up a first round pick.

like i said, clips just made the bonehead move of the century. their excuse, according to espn, is that this years draft class sucks and they really wanted to part with baron. this years draft class does suck, but if they actually looked to trade the pick away, they could've traded for something a hell of a lot better with that draft pick than fucking mo will and jamario moon

Yeah Deron wasn't happening unless Griffin was in the deal. :P

Baron is better then Bibby so they might have gotten someone decent from Atlanta along with him. I don't know if you just made that scenario up thought or that was a legit rumor.

But the Clippers got burned bad here.

Baron right now is better than Mo Will as well. To us, Mo Will wouldnt be too much more valuable than Bibby would be, they both would have been our spot up shooters and nothing else. Although in Mo's defense, he was playing extremely unmotivated bball as well, just like Baron will when he gets to Cleveland.

I still cant believe Clips did this. People hate Baron for waiting for the team to be good before he became good himself, but bottom line is that it finally happened and Baron was finally reverting back to his old self. And then they do this gay ass trade, and lose a 1st round pick in the process. Fuck Sterling's money saving ass.

Baron is gonna be so bad in Cleveland they will probably buy him out and draft a PG. Then they will trade Jamison's expiring contract for some overrated player with a bad contract, ala Elton Brand. Cavs are done, Gilbert should just reduce the payroll as much as he can and sell the team to the league for 250 million. Contract those fuckers.

u guys are overeacting...davis had a huge contract which seemed impossible to move. they got mo williams to fill in for him and now have money to spend in free-agency...i know sterling likes to save money, but if the clippers are ready to take the next step and reach the playoffs, a free agent would help them more than a 10th pick in a weak draft class. Paul George was the 10th pick in this years draft...would u rather have Paul George or enough money to sign a big free-agent to play alonsgide Blake and EJ?

how much money are we talking exactly? because the salary cap is expected to lower next season.

unless the player we can sign is a player worthy of say... 8 million or more per year, i'd just take the 10th pick.

if we have enough to sign a player to a near max contract, then i'd take the cap space.

baron davis was a near max contract, so u could probably get a better piece for that much money..

well it's not like mo williams plays for $0. they already made him forfeit his player option to opt out. they want him as their future PG, not as their cap-space-boy. let's say the cap will be reduced by at least 5 mil, the clippers can only sign an MLE type of nigga then.

what's more interesting to me: how long will baron davis dance around playing for the cavs and just do some other shit instead? will he end up faking an injury? will he, if he ends up playing, have a FG% above 350%?
