I got it as a Christmas gift.  Actually gave me a new appreciation for Jay as an artist.

Empire State of Mind is among Jay's best songs and it also happens to be on of his highest topping singles

No. Are you unfamiliar with how appreciation works?  You've never overlooked something in the past and gained different perspective on it through new information?

sure thing, dude

but music speaks for itself, n i dont think a book/written words can improve/alter an comprehension//apreciation of objective musc, rhythm & melodies..
right?
maybe u meant, u apreciate him as an individual more today?

I didn't say I had a greater appreciation for his music. I said I had a greater appreciation for him as an artist.

Jay Z is the most over-rated artist in the game

honestly, most of it wasn't that informational.

i was hoping for some introspection on his religious perspective cause he doesn't seem to be of any affiliation and based on several lyrics doesn't really believe in that type of thing, which is dope but rare among hip-hop MCs

Book was a great read, its always good to hear stories from real cats, the amount of double/tirple entendres homie puts in his songs is crazy
