People like diddy owned the lox publishing rights. Therefore whatever % he owns of their rights he gets paid even tho the lox are the artists who "put the work in". King of pop, beatles etc...did similiar shit. I could be wrong about all this tho

So if Dre owns 100% he gets 100% of sales??

If Dre owns 50% publishing and Suge owns 50%, suge gets 50% of his sales?

whenever record is used in tv stations, radio, etc they get paid. also when someone wants to sample ur work.

No, not correct. As the other guy said, publishing is not about sales, it's about performing rights: earning money when people play your shit on the radio, TV, at live concerts, samples your work, etc.

No, not correct. As the other guy said, publishing is not about sales, it's about performing rights: earning money when people play your shit on the radio, TV, at live concerts, samples your work, etc.
those are mechanical royalties. publishing is where the artist money come from besides shows and touring. for writng those songs.
