Title: Lakers @ Heat Game Thread
Post by: Teddy Roosevelt on March 10, 2011, 09:23:17 AM
Who do you like? One team is catching its stride, the other is losing it. Will they buck the trend tonight?

You know I'm rolling with the Lakers. 8)

Obviously the Lakers are the favourite here, as they are DEEP and a better team.  They have turned things around now that they are actually playing defense.

Having said that, how you Lake Show fans gonna feel when the Heat win tonight?? ;) ;)

Kobe himself said the Lakers gotta win tonight as they don't wanna be the team that jumpstarts the Heat.

So when the Lakers lose, don't give me that, "but, but...its just a regular season game.  Bean and the crew don't try until playoffs"

Nah, Lakers gonna win, but it'll be a good game nonetheless.

So since apparently the new thing is how regular season games mean so much, you can clearly see the Heat can run with you.

Not only did they bust your ass on Christmas, they've beat you through one half. Just like how every shot in their loses came down to a miss. They keep it tight the whole way through. Once they figure out what to do in the last three-five minutes you're not beating this team.

Maybe you all jumped on them because that's just how badly you wanted to see them lose, but bring on the playoffs is all I have to say.

LOL. At least wait until they even play the second half. There up by 2 points.

Unfortunately for the Heat, that is why you play 4 quarters not 2 lol. This team is too talented though not to figure it out sooner or later.

All I'm saying is when the Lakers win this game by one or two & you're all running in here saying how the Heat just really suck & can't beat the Lakers. Know the game was close. Meaning, given another night, results may vary.

Heat proved they can hang on Christmas. This game is much more significant because of momentum and finishing the season strong.

Wade and Lebron didn't shoot nearly as good as in their recent losses.

The difference:  Bibby, Miller, and Chalmers all hit multiple threes
Bosh played great and went hard at the Lakers big men

Kobe's shot selection was mad suspect at the end (even his made 3 was too deep)
Kobe with  the two turnovers.
Wade with the great defense.

Game over

Eliors  nowhere to be found how surprising. If the heat are so bad why did they beat the lakers again

Before these 2 games I knew Lakers were gonna loose to Miami but beat the Mavericks. Yeah yeah, I know, I should've wrote it.

With Miami everything seemed ideal for Lakers to win; Miami were shit and Lakers in form. But we've seen 1000x in sports how quickly things turn around. And I also think Bryant always gets caught up in the Lebron vs. Kobe hype, he's always forcing shots whether it was against Cleveland or now Miami. Dallas on the other hand was just another derby; easy win for Lakers.

easy? they needed a career game from bynum and still barely won the game, kobe is on a major decline - he can't bring it like he used to, he needs to realize this or else he will make even more of a fool of himself in the playoffs trying to go vintage kobe on niggas while missing dumb shots

People been saying this for the past 2 years. They shut up real quick once the playoffs start, though.

Its naive to think he ISNT on the decline tho man. He's a great player, but every player declines. This year has been the most evident. He still has flashes, like most great players will. But he cant carry the team night in and night out. The best thing for the Lakers is for Kobe to defer more to Gasol.

I dunno. Gasol is still far more skilled than Bynum. He is soft, but Bynum is still pretty inconsistent.

Gasol is almost as old as Kobe. Bynum is young and finally showing some hunger in his game.

Gasol is almost as old as Kobe, a couple years younger right? But Kobe has far more mileage on his legs than Gasol. Not to mention Kobe's game has always relied on athletisism far more than someone like Gasol would. So as he ages, his effectiveness declines at a different rate.
