I support the splitting-into-two idea but there's no doubt the New West section will be filled with threads about how OG's were better in their prime or how the new guys are just rip-offs of those that came before them. With the non-Cali West Coast acts pushed to the side (at most).

I'm not sure even as a better rapper Kurupt just runs away with that though. I mean Death Row era of course, even Kurupt was outshining Snoop on his own album. But solo albums, let's not get it twisted, even post Doggystyle there are many examples of Snoop rapping his ass off. Both fell off a bit granted, but I dont think it is a clear runaway that Kurupt is a better rapper.

Even as a lyricist HEC it is not that runaway for Kurupt either. I mean the amount of lyrical gems from Kurupt has reduced quite a bit post DR. Snoop got lyrics, listen to a song like Think About It.

true but I think Kurupt has always written his own lyrics, the only time was his 2nd stint at Death Row where Crooked was rumored to have written for him but I question that because the lyrics were subpar
I think lyricially Doggfather is Snoops best album but alot of it was ghost written. Think About it as well.

Snoop always wrote his own shit, till "ego trippin" (n he did that as a favour to artists on his camp, so they could cake up wit royalties)

exactly, the examples given were common knowledge. The ghostwritten tracks would not have the original writers listed in the credits.

bad azz confirmed he wrote some songs with Snoop, never mentioned he wrote any albums

Tray deee and Bad Azz never wrote entire albums for Snoop, but I believe they did write at least partially some of his solo songs. Bad Azz wrote songs for Warren G though, that's for sure, G dub said it in interviews. Tray Deee co-wrote Doin Too Much on Top Dogg. Also if you listen to demos, og versions and unreleased songs from the Death Row era, you'll hear a lot of lines that were Tray Deee's and that Snoop later used (i cant remember what now, i have to re listen to songs)
You're wrong about Tray Deee though, Tray Deee may be a gangster but he's also a seasoned writer and a respected lyricist. He's praised for his well constructed verses and rhyme schemes, I said it in other topics but even a lyrical dudes like Crooked I explicitly said that he used to carefully study Tray Deee's verses and that it helped him with his craft. So it's not preposterous to think that he might have written for other ppl, including Snoop.
