who agrees that Daz should fuck with his laid-back style more often? in songs like "these dayz" and "deeez nutz", his flow was very natural and relaxed n nowadays, he's always very intense up on the mic n shit...not that his shit is whack, but he could really expand his horizons if he didn't use the same ol' stressed out flow on every track. handle it.

I've been bumping Daz a lot recently, like I always do this time of year. Because Revenge Retaliation and Get Back came out in March 1998, Spring.. and it was my favorite album of that year. I've had to listen to it nearly every year since and it still doesn't get old. Daz was still on fire when that album came out and the West Coast was hungry for that signature sound at the time with Dre being out on hiatus, and artists like DMX fucking up the game.
As far as Daz flow, I can't really say, I don't listen to much his newer shit. But I do know that in his prime Daz could burn up the mic to fast beats "In California" or slow beats "O.G.'s", everything he did was fire in those days. Yeah, he's probably best on that laid back shit, especially now since he's older and has lost a step. But still Daz is an all-time great emcee/producer.

yea...retaliation is a near classic, no doubt. by todays standards, i'd even call it a classic. i really don't think rappers lose a step, though, i truly believe that once they get big they just dont put out the same effort as they did when the hunger was there...

this is daz in his younger days...with a flow like that, he sounds like a completely different rapper than he does on anything he's put out recently.

I think everybody is bumpin "These Dayz" right about now
-
real spit... daz needa get in on this.
-
Yeah, I've honestly never been a huge Daz fan but his more laid back style is substantially better than his newer shit.

i'm surprised kurupt hasn't gotten him to relax on the mic, cuz kurupts shit pretty much always goes smooth.
-
Daz said he was listening to his fans and releasing D.A.Z to go back to his old style. Well, from the handful of songs I heard, hes still not doing it. Same shit. STOP YELLING DAZ, and Diggy Daz that shit if you still got it. The hardcore beats and all this yelling is so old now.
-
smooth flows over west coast beats....it's attainable, lets go.

one of the best examples is "Got My Mind Made Up" where Daz uses the laid back flow to perfection, I agree he should get back to that

Daz was terrible on that song, you could barely hear him. Easily the worst verse on the song. Usually I just fast forward past his verse

I disagree, I think its one of Daz best verses, and it also complements Pacs angry flow which follows it

I say Daz needs to stick behind the boards or as a hype man
unless he gets Crooked to write him some bars

LOL i'm waiting for Big Daz Dilly to come in here and start bitching at everyone, where you at Daz?
-
IMO Daz set the whole tone for that song being classic, first the beat and then killing it with the laid back flow 8)

he wont do that unless you call him a crackhead
-
RAW was Daz's best album followed by Retaliation. I think Daz should just drop Detox he would get the album out before Dre and probably make it sound dope.

that song is a classic, once daz's verse is over
i agree i could hardly hear or understand what he was saying in that verse on some parts

i guess some peeps are slower than others...i could clearly hear everything said, from beginning to end.

his verse seems like it was mixed lower than the rest..almost like he was whispering
