Allhiphop sat down with Gangstarr, and they talked about there new album, and asked them about the beef between Eminem and Benzino. DJ Premier also talked about his contribution to the new Rakim album and Dre rejecting his beats. Heres a Quote from the Interview, check the full interview on our forum or allhiphop.com:
AllHipHop: Not trying to start any sort of a beef, but I heard that Dr. Dre rejected all of your beats for Rakim’s album, DJ Premier.
DJ Premier: Yeah, that’s true. No buss. As a matter of fact, I just spoke to Rakim. Peace to him. We gonna put our heads together and see. They never put any vocals to anything so I don’t know how they judge over there at Aftermath Records, but we gonna put it down, lay some vocals and see how we wanna get it popped off. It doesn’t matter because I know what we are doing is right. ...

Well, it's really a Gangstarr interview posted up over in Outbound, this was only one question, but yeah, this part is Dre related, so.
I hope Premo finally gets some beats on there, one atleast!
-
fuck dre for that...
premier got the best beats..

well.. one of the best beats

can't believe this
-
Dre should open up his mind....If Primo gave Ra anything like "The one and Only" that shit would be dope.
-
Let's look at it as the beats that Rakim has been rhymin' over for this album so far are all better the beats Primo submitted for Ra (which would be amazing judging for what ones he used in his last two albums).
Plus, Primo could be lying. Dre might have told he say that to confuse everyone. This album is a big fucking secret. They want to suprise.
-
The One And Only beat is amazing...If Primo gave him anything like that it would be classic...Then again if he gave him a Batman and Robin beat Dre was right...
-
Rather hear Primo and Ra period.
Dre should stick to phenoms.
Hatesrats 2oo2

i had heard that permier had kicked down beats and dre just changed them around a little
and the reason dre might not want premos beats might be cause they don't fit in the flavor of the album, remember dre said he left some of the best cuts off 2001 cause they didn't fit the feel of it. dre wants a totally complete album whether premo should be on it or not
-
well no one really knows much about this album in the first place. remember when the source went in and said there was only 2 tracks done, and they thought dre was gonna drop the ball with this album? i definetly think they're keeping this album totally hush hush with what they're doin. but if its true that primo hasn't had one beat approved for this album, then in my opinion, its fucked up. primo definetly should have a few tracks IMO. everything is speculation, so who the hell knows what to believe

rejectin primo beats n buyin mike dean beats...... ::) how sad
nah seriously, dre n rakim i think are workin real closely together on this or the joint jus aint boomin, either way i wanna hear sum word off dre or sumthing at least about the release time!
peace

Mike Dean has such tight beats i rate him very highly.
-
mike dean is the shit
mike dean is to Scarface like DJ Premier is to Rakim or dre + snoop

i look at it like this
this album is going to be one continuous theme production wise, like doggystyle
with doggystyle being all g-funk....it would ruin the whole theme if you put in a beat like "gangsta gangsta" or "the world is yours" right?
so maybe it's going to have one continual production theme

Yeah, could be..
But Dre said in a interview that the album would be partly 2001, partly Detox..
-
i just can't wait for this album...
-
well see...
-
yeah i know mike dean is tight, thats not what im sayin, im sayin he rejectin a legends beats though and buying mike deans....
-
wtf is dre doin...i have a feeling dat dre might fuck this album up...dre's beats are fucking weak these days...i think primo should just produce the whole album...

could be , the chronic was like half efil4zaggin and half doggystyle

Honestly I don't think Primo is the direction Dre is looking for with this album...And I think the Mike dean tracks will be used for other aftermath albums like Cube's...Even though MikeDean is tight I don't see Dre putting his tracks on Rakim's...
-
Im not hatin but I got a feelin that Oh My God will be a flop

we prob gonna see all dre production.....i mean i bet he figures hes been this far....might as well do it all himself!!... i hope so atleast....all fully produced albums by dre have been classics......Chronic, Doggy Style, and 2001.....and albums he produces alot like MMLP and Restless are very close to classic.....i think if we see an all dre album we gonna see nothing less then classic....i hope its all dre....and think of it like this if he rejecting his beats it can be a good thing.....meaningn the album is tight as hell tight enough that primo cant get on it
