Did I missed something?

I started watching when Power 106's Big Boy was speaking.  I missed what Snoop Dogg had to say.  It looks like Fredwreck also spoke (it looked like he was up there sitting next to Big Boy).

But something that was said by Nate Dogg's manager, Rod McGrew, that really stood out was the personal thanks he gave to Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Warren G., Xzibit, and Eminem for coming through in a big way for the family.

There's been all this talk since Nate's passing that Nate's friends "left him" or didn't do right by Nate.  I'll take the family's word over all these people speaking about something they know nothing about.

it was so sad! the last song of Latoiya Williams makes me cry..
Goodbye Nate Dogg, loves you & miss you

"Why did my homie have to die,
With the tears in my eyes
I came to say goodbye, say goodbye ..."

DJ Pooh's twitter feed has a bunch of photos...

And I was listening to the Ustream feed on my iPhone... I was driving... and hearing Snoop speak briefly to the family right before they stopped the feed made me tear up a little.

I hear you.  Sadly, haters gonna hate.  People who have no clue about what really has gone down the last few years regarding Nate.  Again, I'll take the family's word over these know-nothing haters...

Here's what Nate's sister, Pamela Hale-Burns has said:

"Awesome memorial 4 my brother Nate Dogg today. Thx 2 Snoop, Warren, Xzibit, Eminem, & Dr. Dre. MaryMary thx 4 coming & sharing w/us in song."

"@SnoopDogg Thank u for all that u are doing and have done for my brother. It is a great help to my mom and greatly appreciated by my family"

The memorial recording is now up on Snoop's Ustream channel...

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13582277

Fredwreck speaks @ 3:15

Big Boy @ 16:30 - Funny story about when Nate surprised some Japanese fans, and a story about why he could not "phone tap" him.

Rod McGrew (Nate's manager / family friend) @ 21:30 - Great words about Nate's character, his passion for both secular and gospel music, how he hand picked Jacob (current contestant on American Idol) to be in InNate Praise, how he loved Snoop and Warren, how he wanted to go to heaven and "hang out with his boys" 2Pac, Biggie, and his favorite artist, Michael Jackson, and a personal thanks to Snoop, Warren, Xzibit, Dr. Dre, and Eminem for stepping up "big time" for the family in their time of need.

Snoop and Warren @ 1:23:00 - They begin to introduce the gospel singers that the family chose to perform at the memorial.  The first was a group called The Soul Seekers.

Snoop @ 1:29:45 - Intros the next group, Mary Mary, from Inglewood.

Snoop @ 1:49:00... right at the end... breaks down when briefly addressing Nate's mom, Ms. Ruth... walks away from the mic  :'(

And it looks like The D.O.C. was up on the stage towards the back.  As Snoop walks away to the back of the stage, it looks like it's D.O.C. that hugs Snoop and tries to console him.  (I may be wrong... it's the guy with the black hat and black shirt who I think is D.O.C.)

GREAT!! Gonna watch it right now! Somebody should rip it so it's never lost.

EDIT: Wow very moving tribute. Especially Nate's sister and Snoop. Damn she says Nate's mother had a stroke at the same time as Nate, family must have been through a lot of hard times. After his first stroke Nate recorded several Gospel songs he had written. As said his manager during his tribute, Nate was really going to make Gospel music. Hopefully we'll hear it some day.

Ozir, thanks for all the updates in this thread.  It's much appreciated.

I started watching this late tonight, but I couldn't go to sleep until after finished.  The service was very well done.  It was great to get a lot more insight as to Nate's state of mind these last few years and even how he was behind the scenes earlier on.  Years ago, I always wondered if Nate would ever go back to his roots musically and do a Gospel album.  I just always wondered how it would sound and how it would be received, both from his hip-hop fans and in the Gospel circle.  It's good to know that he did get started and was able to put some stuff on record.  Obviously, he didn't get to take it as far as he wanted to, but I just hope the world is able to one day hear what he recorded.

It was great to hear some old stories from some of the closest people in his life and learn more about the real Nate that goes beyond songs, videos and interviews.  His sister Latanya messed me up, but she spoke nothing but realness.  People so often take life for granted and we really don't know how much time we or the ones that we love have left.  Thankfully, for her, she was able to see him before he left.  That's not always the case for many.
