DJ Quik - The Audio Biography Of David (Mixtape Download) - By : Mil - March 29, 2011
It goes down in history today as the legendary DJ Quik releases his second career mixtape! The Audio Biography of David is a precursor to his 8th studio album (The Book of David - in stores 4/20) and embodies the essence of West coast music, featuring classic songs and commentary from DJ Quik, as well as a few tracks off the new album.

There's none of that on here.

The only person talking over the tracks is Quik himself, dropping the stories behind the tracks. A great way to do a mixtape imo

I should have looked at this before I downloaded it, I got all this stuff. Shit, somebody just gave me his red vinyl Trauma album.

Anyone know if Quik is planning on releasing a hard copy of the mixtape like he did with Trauma? Downloading it for free is cool (I'm listening to it right now at work) but I would rather buy the cd with the artwork and add it to my Quik collection.

Loved the mixtape, and all the stories.
If you're like me, and were banging your head against a wall for an hour straight replaying the first few seconds of "Boogie Til You Conk Out" and trying to figure out where you've heard that sample before, it was also used in Mase's "Do You Wanna Get Money" (the first track on the "Harlem World" album) - http://new.music.yahoo.com/mase/albums/harlem-world--159729685
And the actual sampled track is Peter Brown - "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjDRY8nr3Sk

This was a real cool-ass release. It served its purpose. I'm officially hyped for "Book Of David". I'd buy a hard copy when they put them out.

Nice!

Why Quik didn't speak on "Down down down" ???
This song is the one I was expecting the more a breakdown and Quik skipped it.. Why ? Because he doesn't want to speak about Mausberg ? Common..

That beat really does boogie woogie, Cube switches his flow to match it. Boppin.
