ok here we go again.. this goes along the lines of cube's "how to survive in south central" if u remember that or anything else where the industry is talked about... follow the format i lay down which is to fill in the blank

* Get yourself some Dre-production - if you cant afford it: say that you are wondering to get Dre to the beats for you.
* Have cameos from Spice 1, Tray Deee, W.C. & a few choruses from Nate Dogg on your album.. no Westcoast-fan with respect for themselves can hate on that..
* For heavens sake: stay away from ThaRow if you wanna get paid or have a album released.
* If you're not a gang-member: be affiliated at least
* If you want credibility: make wack music, so that you won't sell. To lose this credibility, just make sure to sell more than 100.000 or call yourself 2Pac.
* Want Westcoast-public? Use words like khakis, chucks, lo-lo's, lowrider, turf, '64, crip, blood, underground, Cali-luuuv, rep your set, etc.
* Be a nice lyricist.. don't matter if you're half retarded, if you can throw together a bunch of words that nobody can understand.. you're a made man
* You're a gang-leader? Oh yeah, just sign here....
You already got fans (the hood) & you're propped up.. Nobody will talk smack on a gang leader.

*Be Featured in other artist songs
*Try to present ur style with a Anthem single that can get airplay in the club
*Have a video directed by Little X , Hype Williams, Benny Boom Or Chris Robinson
*Dont look too old like most of the WestCoast rappers (WC,B Legit,Tray Deee)
*Be Affiliate with DoggyStyle Records
*Bring a new Sound to the west coast (not the usual sound)
*Act like it aint about East/West music

If you have a good single going, make it available for sale, and include remixes or unreleased tracks.
When your CD does drop include extras (DVD or whatever) to distinguish it from the others.
Get on a soundtrack.
Have a drop date and STICK TO IT!

have a classic album from the early 90s and say "this is going to be the next __________ (fill in name of classic album and add Vol 2 to the title)

If you're big enough to run your own shit, and knows your business, you can get much larger/richer than a underground artist.
