in terms of just on-paper names representing the epitome of quality and relevance during their time?
or in terms of the actual tracks they appear on making the album THAT much better?
I'd answer the former with "yes" and the latter with "I'm not sure"

Xzibit's Restless needs to appear in this discussion. Great selection of artists and beatmakers on that album, and surprisingly makes for a cohesive record.

Not even being close to a compilation, Dre wasn't on 4 songs.

since when does something only classify as an album if the main artists is doing the majority of the vocals and is on every track? Dre produced the whole thing (minus "the message") as an album => album. "dr. dre presents: the aftermath" is a sampler/compilation cause it's just a random collection of tracks by various people.

Having dope people appear on your album is cool but it's more about how you utilize them. I think previously-mentioned albums like "2001", "Restless", "Streetz Iz A Mutha", etc. did equally as well or better. Other honorable mentions should go to projects like Fat Joe's "Don Cartegena", Sticky Fingaz' "Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones" and even Notorious B.I.G.'s "Life After Death".

I'll tell you who had the best guest verses ever, don't laugh - Shaquille O'Neal...
These Shaq songs had some of the best guest verses ever:
-Skillz feat. Def Jef - Def Jef totally murders his verse, maybe the best, hardest Def Jef verse ever
-What's Up feat. Fu-Schnickens - Chip-Fu does ridiculous rhymes in there
-No Hook feat. Method Man and RZA - one of Meth's best ever verses, dope-ass beat, classic Wu
And on one album, "Shaquille O'Neal Presents His Superfriends, Vol. 1," he has:
Dr. Dre, George Clinton, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, WC, Jayo Felony, Twista, Trina, Questlove, Common, Black Thought of The Roots, Black Rob, Ludacris, Mos Def, Talib Kweli

Also another unrelated album that springs to mind is George Clinton's Greatest Funkin Hits album, which had -
Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Q-Tip, Coolio, and Digital Underground guesting, that was a dope line-up

I don't think so - only that track with Dub and Nate is available I believe..
-
I think it might of done, just because there is an allmusic review of it, so if there were review CDs sent out that usually means there are copies that could have been ripped at some point
