Most of us know O'Shea Jackson as either the controversial rapper or as the Hollywood actor. O’Shea’s stage name is Ice Cube who as a rapper has made a musical career off of what has been termed as gangsta rap by many. In fact, on several occasions Ice has even taken credit for creating the notorious form of rap music even though that claim just isn’t true. In reality not much is true that Ice has rapped about in his twenty plus year career.......

first off "hip hop" and "gangsta rap" are two completely different things. Hip Hop was created in NYC in the early 1970s.
Gangsta Rap was created in the early/mid 1980s and NWA didn't get involved until 1986 or 87

I don't think Ice Cube iwas sayimg he created gangsta rap. He is trying to imply that he is the one who made it popular. After N.W.A. came out everyone had to do gangsta rap if they wanted to sell records.

For starters its very poorly written. One of the problems with your essay is that you make assumptions about Cube that just aren't true. For instance, you assume he has tried to hide where he went to school or that he went to college. These are known facts that Cube has talked about in interviews. Also you assume he claims credit for coming up with gangsta rap when in fact he has given credit to his predecessors. Essentially your "exposures" aren't exposures at all.
Another tip for writing a persuasive piece: find a topic and stick with it. Your article doesn't have a focus and is all over the place. First you talk about his schooling and how he can't be a real gangster. Then you talk about the New West vs. Ice Cube. Then you talk about violence in his music (completely ignoring the lyrical content of the new west rappers you just praised a paragraph ago btw). Then you talk about the racism in his music. Then you say he is trying to convert kids to Islam. Then you go through every rapper he has beefed with? And you end with saying he doesn't sell anymore and his time is up in music. What exactly is the point of this article? All you're really saying is "I don't like Ice Cube, he's a bad guy and I'm going to think of every bad thing I can say about him." It's a child's argument.

Ice-T him self only says Scooly D was because he bit that "PSK" track and flipped it to a gangsta track "6 in the morning" then Ice Cube bit Ice-T making it "Boyz In The Hood"..... It's just my opinion so please no haters talking shit....

Can't believe I'm even postin on this shit...Cube is a legend and one of the best to ever do it.. You can pick apart Cube, Dre, Snoop, Quik or any of the veterans with this or that. Why can't we just enjoy the product they have provided...One of the things I respect about Dre and I think Cube is that they have made it clear they are not gangsters and are just making a living. Most of us posting are not gangsters but some of us have done some dirt. I know I have but that does not make me a real gangster. The Muslim drinkin brew is a point but that has been bought up before....Get a life Dude.

It's crazy to me how much, people don't listen to lyrics and songs, cube wrote the most prolific and creative shit to me in hip hop. He rapped in third person to storytelling to self awareness. When he rapped "dope man" that was him telling you what exactly a dope man does with no exaggeration on the lifestyle like so many do now.
I mean I watch the Vlad interviews and he stirs up so much like Cube was faking some shit or saying that Cube rapped "I'll kill you, I'm a gangsta", Cube created from the perspective of some one on the inside looking to speak out. You can clearly tell Vlad was raised on some partridge family shit.
Not every one in the hood killing, there's hardworking motherfuckers here, Cube to me sold out the least, as soon as rap got personified, he went to movies.
He is my favorite MC because his catalogue was tough, his flow was always on point. But to me Cube always told stories, like slick rick, but on some west coast g shit. Unfortunately you have to live here or know what it is like to live in a gangbang barrio to k ow, you're affiliated by family friends etc... Don't mean you do that shit, but you know it... There's no fucking way a schoolyard punk would know first hand about all the shit he was saying. Cube was like 16 when he wrote most of the NWA shit and started rapping. That's genius to me and creative, out of some thing so painful to live through.

I read that article a while back, I thought the author was either smoke crack or trying to make a piss poor parody. Either way how come everyone mentions cube and being bus to school but no one mentions Tupac going to an extremely nice school and becoming a fucking Ballad dancer. The people who debate constantly about this shit like the wiggers in Eurosovakia and DJVlad are the people who never ever lived anything close to the poverty life style. They're the people who've never deal with any of the real Life issues or situations being in that type of environment. It's like all those pissed off rockers in the 70s and 80s, calming to be hardcore motherfuckers, when the reality is they lived in a suburb and the only authority they ever dealt with was from they own nuclear family.
