I remember reading a year end issue for 1999 and Dr. Dre's 2001 got the 40th best album of the year.
I guess it's intresting for people who like artists who no one else cares about.

people no one cares about?...plenty of people care about E-40, 8-Ball n MJG, Esham, 3-6 Mafia and so on...hell they feature TalibKweli and Mobb Deep in there...Mobb Deep had the cover once...just cuz its more geared to underground doesnt mean people dont care about em...but yea...they didnt liek 2001 they said it was too east coast influenced...which...the beats kinda were...

u want to wipe out the source?..u know what u do?...just dont buy it...spread the news about murder dog...make it popular...cuz if people really want the streets to sell...then they need to feature the street artists...like murder dog does

correction... everybody's sayin "fuck the source", cause the owner Ray-Ray simply brought it onto himself, what with all the racial issues involved, and blaming one person for the state of hip-hop. And as for the magazine, well, I'll sum it up in two short phrases: "8-Page Ad for Made Men" & "4 Mics for everyone!!!!!"

You don't think anyone has ended a beef before? He said that on the MMLP which was May 2000 it's Jan 2003 now. It's only natural that they end thier beef. It benefits both of them.

Or maybe the last two issues were the last straw. In the year end issue Eminem wasn't on the producers list or the power 30 that's after the Benz/Em beef began. Then the official website for the mag posted an article basically stating Em is the devil...blah, blah and everything else Benz was saying AND in the same article they said that Benzino's musical career is seperating from what goes on at The Source, LMFAO. Then they post up Benzino's mixtape for download on the Source's official website and bash Eminem in the latest issue.
Do they have any credibility left?

i've heard a hell of a lot of people say fuck the source way before this whole beef started, i know i was sayin it, i mean they never give the west coast any luv and dickride jigga and nas. the only thing they did right in the last year was givin the fix 5 mics, unfortunately i have a felling it was for the wrong reasons. and 90% of the west coast classic albums have gotten less than 5, then they got the balls to give them an honarary 5 mics in an anniversary issue, i mean what kind of shit is that. anybody who listened to chronic, doggystyle etc. knew they were absolute classics, the first listen, it didn't take them years to figure it out. now they have just taken it too far using their magazine to spread hate, i think this whole source backlash is gonna spread into music with more artists, and we may get the second big war of hip hop, whether it will be east vs. west, who knows, hopefully it won't get out of hand

Like Engle said, I've been sayin that since the early 90s when the first hosed Dre with the Chronic. And then with thier constant east coast dick riding. But the racism aspect recently hasn't helped either.

well murder dog is still rather new...they havent been out too long...give em time...theyll eventually make it out to the UK...i mean hell they had a whole big feature of UK Garage groups...im sure theyll be there...plus they got peeps from south africa sendin in letters so some how theyre gettin it...i really never cared for xxl...cuz i dont wanna know about jayz, nas and others...i wanna know about Swisha House, Skee 64, David Banner, RDVz, E-40, Booyaa T.R.I.B.E....etc...thats just me...but i mean damn...yall are West Coast fans and arent supportin the shit...yall are supportin mags that dickride for the east and hate on the west...if u cant get ur hands on it...coo...i understand it...but if ur the kinda person complaining that these mags dont support the west...then u need to pick up murder dog...
