Alright since I'm almost on vacation and that I'll have free time, it's time to do it.
To be honest I had never heard of Fo' Clips until horchatax3 mentioned him in that "Westcoast hook singers" thread on dubcnn, right after Nate Dogg's passing.
He is more a rapper that can sing than a pure singer, but really can sing and has a very smooth voice.
Being a crip he appeared first on "Bloods & Crips bangin on wax" under the alias "Young Malcom".
He became a protege of Tweedy Bird Loc who featured him heavily on his album "No holds bared" where Fo' Clips was mostly rapping. Supposedly Eazy E didn't want to sign him because he didn't see any potential in him that's why Fo' Clips is featured on the diss song "Yall can't fuck with us".
His only one solo album, "Just be thankful", produced by Tweedy Bird Loc, Ronnie Phillips aka Ronnie Ron, D.Fingaz and Leroy Dukes, came out in 95. It's a versatile album, not hardcore sounding, with Fo' Clips showcasing his talent both rapping and singing on crazy productions.
He was shot in the head in a phone booth 2 weeks after he released his album on Dangerous Records.
Since reliable info is rare on the net, I got mine from his myspace biography and corroborating testimonies on youtube from people claiming being crips and/or from his neighborhood.
His album is pure G-Funk, I urge everybody to check it and hope you will enjoy it as I do.

The point of this thread is to introduce Fo' Clips to the people that have never checked him and to complete his guest apparences C.V.

Quality records re-release in 98 on the top of the picture. Booklet is the same of the OG so it's minor differences, it's just for collectors who want the first pressing.
