No doubt.
Cube and them ain't DPG affiliated so they lose by default in most of these cat's eyes.

Bow Down, The Gangsta The Killa and The Dope Deala and King of the Hill shit on anything off Dogg Food except for maybe New York New York.
-
oooouwwwww oouwww ouwwwww
ding-de-deghn
both definitely classics tho
-
Dogg Food BY FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bow Down was a very timely album, and I truly appreciate Ice Cube for standing up for the West Coast, and that Source cover issue with him throwing up the dubb is classic. "Bow Down" the title track was a classic song.
...that being said, the Dogg Food album had "New York, New York". And it is hard to beat "Bow Down" but "New York, New York" was an even bigger record in my opinion.
...the whole Dogg Food album from top to bottom is bangin, there is not one track you have to skip over. It was Death Row in it's prime, Dre was even still hangin around in those days, and Snoop was all over the album; so you really can't fuck with that record.
And somebody above was saying they didn't like "Let's Play House" but I thought that was a great lead single for the album. It had Nate Dogg, Michelle', great summertime joint (even though it came out in winter, it was still poppin for me when summer of 96 came around).
-
Both a personal classics but I'm going to say Dogg Food ;)
-
bow down easily ;D ;D
WSCG is the one of best rap group off all time.
-
Both albums are classic, but I gotta go with Dogg Food. What about "Reality" that shit right there is one of the hardest West Coast tracks production wise, lyric wise, and content. Plus is features Tray Deee and fuck Mobb Deep with the infamous, what does that gotta do with that shit ese!!! West Coast In Your Muthafucking mouth!!!!
-

what did you mean by "Fuck Mobb Deep with the infamous"?
-
I'd say Dogg Food. More consistent, more versatile, longer. Bow Down is close though. Three Time Felons, that's my joint 8)
agree with gfunkgueroLA, Reality is easily one of the best Dogg Pound tracks ever. people often mention New York new York but I don't even think it's among the best tracks in Dogg Food. the beat is fire and Kurupt spits some savory lines and of course it's a classic due to the impact it had when it came out but Kurupt's verses were too damn long it damn near killed the dynamism of the track.
-
for bow down to even be in discussion with dogg food considering it had what??
10 or 11 tracks compared to like 15 or 16 lol.
im not tryna sound like a hater but i seriously dislike dogg pounds music especially when that ONE album is all they had going for them. and that ONE album is overated as fuck just like how Jay z reasonable doubt is overated.
-
BOTH ARE CLASSIC AND I CAN STILL BUMP ANYDAY!!!!
but ive always been a HUGE DPG fan. so i got to go wit dogg food. tho im a Cube.WC fan also!
i got to go wit dogg food!
-
Bow Down easily. Dogg Food is overrated. Decent album but it gets too much hype for capitalizing off of Doggystyle and The Chronic.
-
i like Cube, Mack & WC more than i do Daz & Kurupt, but Dogg Food is better overall

sure, but bow down is overrated too
-
Dogg Food. Better production and has more replay value for me. Come to think of it, I really need to listen to Bow Down again, it's been a while...
-
I wanted to see which album is more loved here because these are two albums that always get mad love on DubCC.
-
back in the days when i lived with my friends we used to bump Bow Down all day everyday. That never happened with Dogg Food (except few joints)... so you know my answer...
-
Bow Down easily. Dogg Food is overrated. Decent album but it gets too much hype for capitalizing off of Doggystyle and The Chronic.
sure, but bow down is overrated too
No its not.

lol, you're always saying that gangsta rap gets too much praise on here, but now you're flip flopping?
-
at first i couldnt decide...but after thinking about it for like 10 mins..ive realized im going with bow down...
dogg food is classic g-funk..bow down is a harcore pure west coast hip hop album..
it ultimately came down to not skipping one track on bow down..while dogg food had some fillers i couldve done without...ie: if we all fucc, so much style, do what i feel, one by one..

How is that flip flopping? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non_sequitur
The fact this forum is only interested in west coast gangsta rap doesn't affect the quality of the music. If you only listen to gangsta rap it doesn't mean some of those albums aren't classics. It says more about you and your limited music taste than it does about the music.
-
Bow Down when it first came out I was not sure if WSC could carry a whole album being that they only had 2 songs previously done together but for a debut group album they did they thing. One of the best pure gangsta rap albums of all time IMO. Now as far as duos, DPG you don't get much better than that. I love both fuck it ;D
-
Dogg Food. Both classics tho. Bow Down was harder and meaner but gets trumped by that classic death row sound with Dre and Daz in their prime and nobody in WSCG was fuckin wit Kurupt lyrically back then. Neither album was overrated so niggas need to shut up wit that shit.
-
Both a personal classics but I'm going to say Dogg Food ;)
-
Bow Down was the last great album from Cube.
Dogg Food was the only great album from the DPG.
From them albums , beat wise you can call it a match. Lyrically Ice Cube cant be tested.
''Nigga rewind my part and....(Bow Down)'' - Ice.
-
Bow Down
-
I love both these albums, it's really close. Dogg Food has some great production (smooth classic Death Row sound) and Bow Down has more of a hardcore gangter sound to it which is dope. I think Bow Down is a little bit tighter consistency wise because it's shorter. I think the first 3/4 of Dogg Food is perfect but when tracks like "If We All Fuck" and the next track "Bomb Ass Pussy" come in the flow of the album gets thrown off; I always skip both these tracks. Doog Food should have gone from "Do What I Feel" straight into "A Doggz Day Afternoon" and it would have sounded better overall; more tracks don't always make for a better album. Bow Down is shorter but doesn't have any tracks that I have to skip so for that I say Bow Down is better but both are classics.
-

"So Much Style", "Do What I Feel" and "One By One" aren't bad songs (better than "If We All Fuck" and "Bomb Ass Pussy") but definitaly not as good as any of the tracks from the first half of the album or "A Doggz Day Afternoon" and "Reality". If Dogg Food wouldn't have had these tracks and been just a 11 - 12 track album (and maybe include the original "Big Pimpin'" from the Above The Rim soundtrack instead of "Big Pimpin' 2") it would be full of nothing but classics and better than Bow Down for sure.
-
imma pick Bow Down
-

Well, people always have said it's a classic though.
-
One of the things that made Bow Down so dope to me was the production. Top notch throughout and for the most part it was done minus Bud'da from producers not directly taught under Dr. Dre. So for me it had a fresh, innovative sound but at the same time it was west the fuck out.
-
BOW DOWN!!
I realy like Dogg Food, but bow down is fucking HARD!!!
-
Why is KC Hoodsta still posting I'n this thread? Tryna get a reaction? We get it. U dont like dogg food.

I would call both these albums West Coast Classics but not overall classic albums, so they are both a little overrated in a way
-
hard to chose but i'll go with Dogg Food
-
Dogg Food is one of tha best hip hop albums
-
bow down.
not to take anythign away from the dogg food album, cuz that was a nice album as well.
and, i still play both these albums.
I do not know why you all are aguing with that KC Hoodsta punk. He thinks he is hard and is looking for attention.
-
Dogg Down
-
dogg food not even a quest
bow down is dope but seriously a bit too shot to be compared to dogg food imo
-
bow down easy.cube was spitting his as off on bow down.
-
Both are dope, but I gotta go with Bow Down, pretty hard album.
-
both are all time undeniable classics. every track is bangin on both cd's but bow down doesnt have enough tracks. so dogg food.
-
Dogg Food without question. Both great albums tho.
-
Dogg food hoie. The intro alone is iller than bow down. I love Bow Down and what it did for the coast. The beats were on. Point and the whole grup sounded hungry like they were new niccas. The only setback is the subject matter. I wouldnt call it a setback but in this debate thats what dosent measure up. Dogg Food album is betternimo becuz it flows all the way through. The intro comes on bangin and kurupt and daz rip it, then the next joint comes on and u hear Dre and the ""respect" beat comes on and u know this album is gonna be dumb. We all pretty much put NYNY on another level thats a given. Bomb ass pussy, do what i feel, psyco like no, reality,. I guess in a sense i related to dogg fod more cuzz it was from b.g. Or a young niccas perspective moreso as Bow Down was the o.g.'s riding for a cause. But BOTH are classics and should be in some type of Hall Of Fame............. Add CMW "music to driveby" too
