Title: My Musical Plans Ruined again.
Post by: Trauma-san on January 13, 2003, 09:04:52 PM
Well.  I'm always getting an idea in my head, that I could cover some old band's song, and make my own version, and get rich off of it.  A few years ago, It was gonna be the beatles, "In My Life", then some fag made a version for that movie "I Am Sam".

Well, for the past month, I've been thinking I'm gonna get famous for my version of Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over", and now these bitches on some new movie did a cover version.

Yeah, but really, who cares about original stuff? lol my plan is to have an album with like 10 original songs, and 2 covers, and then see if they wanna pimp the cover, LOL.

Does the song you mentioned, "Don't Dream it's Over", have a chorus that say's "Hey Now, Hey Now"?   If so, I think it was the Dixie Chicks that remade that over a year ago.  The origional is a great song, good choice.  I became a big fan of it when I heard it as the theme music to Steven Kings, "The Stand" about 5 years ago.  That movie was deep, it was about the ultimate struggle for good and evil, and the lyrics fit perfect.

No, it wasn't the dixie chicks.  It was Sixpence None The Richer.  Once I found out it was Sixpence None The Richer, I didn't mind as much, because they're a good band.  None of yall would think so, though!
