Samples The New Workout Plan. Album coming "at the back end of the summer"
-
Props.
The hook is solid, plus the talk-box was awesome. Coppin' the album for sure (if it does get released).

This is dope and his last few leaks (I guess they are throwaways and not for the album) have been pretty good too (especially Simba or whatever it's called)
-
beat > vocals
J. Cole's voice doesn't fill out the beat. It's far too powerful compared to his voice.
-
doubt this is the first single but the song is dope! 8)

This is the first single he kept hyping up about. He said it had a Ye sample but needed to get it cleared, he did. He also said there's a "one, two punch" for the marketing strategy. I guess this single is the first punch, the next is unknown. I doubt this will generate much interest though.

I don't like the direction J.Cole is going lyrically/vocally.. he's trying to sound like a mix between Kanye & Lil Wayne, and that is not a good look.
This is better than the 2 previous "singles" though..
-
'who dat' is a much better single than all the new ones.

:-X

Cole really needs to leave the production to other people. His productions are extremely boring, and they pretty much all sound the same.
-
Actually pretty dope for a summer jam. Not as good as Shutterbugg tho. Similar kinda track.

Was listening to it today, definitely growing on me

weak sauce. I don't know how people can hate on mainstream rappers and then like it when their favorite rapper makes the same type of song.
