"We sat down, we cleared that up, me and Dre, and then we said, 'Let's just get back to the music and do what we do,' " Curtis said before revealing his and Dre's next move. "Immediately after, we wrote a song together called 'The Psycho'; it's Dre's next single."
I have a gut feeling that this album is going to get cancellled . Too many wrong turns , and also it seems that interest in the album is at an all time low .
-
Whatever! if it does, it does. it it doesn't, it doesn't.
they got to realize people move on. best thing he can do is keep releasing music or put on more MCs but they failed or the MCs they've tried to put on failed to connect with the masses (Bishop Lamont & Stat Quo). Though, the machine was never behind either of them fully so it's all up in the air, fluff talk on who's fault it is.

It won't get cancelled, Kurupt just tweeted to "Look out for Detox"!!
http://twitter.com/#!/kurupt_gotti/status/81781263572283392
Like we haven't heard that before........
-
I hope to hear kurupt and dre work together again before the world comes to an end...
Then again, I'm also hoping dre will work with cube again and that hasn't happened in 11 years

If there is one dude I really dont wanna see on Detox its 50.

If there is one dude I really dont wanna see on Detox its Dre. lol...
-
in past years (2004-2010), this news would have gotten me excited. in 2011, i don't care. thanks dre.
-
It's sad cuz I've been waitin all these years but I don't even care anymore.
What happens happens...

Dre & 50 - Psycho ..again?
-
Dre & 50 - Psycho ..again?
but no Em!
-
strongly possible its the beat from the ad, sound fits the title.
-
I think it's only fair 50 gets on Detox. He's cool for a hook and short verse or 2. Whatever drops now isn't gonna be on the album anyway unless it gets some massive press from Dres side. Probably just another 'teaser' track..

''it could've been u'' pre-bisd was tha shit and at that time wouldnt have been a bad way to kick off ''detox''. i wonder if ''psycho'' is gonna sound like ''stay wide awake''? and yall r kinda rite tho, this whole ''detox'' thing is kinda gettin outta hand at this point. will they be doing this same shit in 2013, smh?
-
I liked the beat from the ad, hope they release the song soon....

coulda been you wasn't that good, lol that people were saying it was one of the best songs recorded for detox before it leaked.
psycho could well be the beat from the car ad, sounds dramatic like 'come and go' but more developed beat.

ELEVEN??

You guys are just reaching this point? Lol I been saying since 07 if it drops ill buy it. But till then I'm not expexting it.
Only difference is after hearing some of the songs I no longer expect much out of it when it drops

u must not know "how to love" man. that instrumental was probably the best instrumental ever released from the leaks. it was full, it was dre, it was nice. it was new but old skool at tha same time, i really liked it. the version on BISD was cool but the way they changed up the song took away from it. i dont know what everybody else in the world said but me and the youngin's i've played it around enjoyed it (or they were enjoying my company lol). the version with the instrumenal at the beginning and then the song kicking in.
-
I think Detox was more exciting when we hadn't heard any leaks or the singles...
Because before it was like some top secret stuff, everyone who had heard anything said it
was mindblowing and the next level of hiphop and the most complex hiphop album ever,
and some new style and a change of direction for hiphop...
And in your mind you're thinking of all the dope stuff that could be happening on it...
Then after hearing the tracks so far and leaks, it's like... oh.

it was a khalil beat again tho, definitely not feeling it as much as shit popped off and topless. the instrumental sounded a lot nicer on BISD thanks to the dre mix, but none of the versions of it are really memorable at all here.

yeah I feel the same way. I was really hyped for Detox after hearing Relapse but everything since then has been mediocre.

+1, the hype has cooled down a little

The 'Man on the street' hasn't heard all that stuff though.
They've seen Dre on the HP adverts and maybe performing INAD on tv.
People will be stoked about the idea of a Dre comeback....just not those people who live it every day online.
-
Man, all they do is record. I'm sure he's got crazy records stashed. The question is will they ever see the light of day for the next 40 or so years. We probably have to wait for him to die and then they'll release AFTERMATH BOX SETS.
-
LOL@people saying fans have "moved on" from Detox. Like it's a girlfriend or something.
It's a collection of songs being made into an album. If it's dope people will listen to it, bottom line. And waiting only increases the suspense and the anticipation. The album has already reached legendary status without even coming out. This shit will be a huge event if it ever comes out.
And I guarantee you guys who are supposedly "disgusted" with Detox are gonna be some of the first to check it out.

What is weird is that before any leaks everyone commenting in interviews about it always acted like there were a bunch of secrets about the album.
Like what the concept was going to be, was it going to be a long story over the whole album, or different rappers playing different characters,
And people mentioning it was gonna be like a 12 step detox program and that it would have an odd structure, and that were not really tracks,
but different pieces to the album...
Then there was the overall sound, like I thought Quik had let the cat out of the bag when he mentioned that Dre had sampled classical music,
and that this would be like Dre beats but with orchestral stuff instead of funk, which would have been dope...
So why was Detox all hush hush and no one allowed to speak on it? It seems they never had any secret ideas,
the first leaks were just regular hip-hop like Topless, and the later ones and singles are just kinda regular clubby pop songs.
Like if Bishop Lamont at any point in an interview had been like, "ok, I'll let you in on a secret, there is a song called 'Kush' and
I'm not supposed to let this secret out, but it's a song about weed! And it has Akon on the hook! And the beat has pianos and
clubby style beat!"
We'd have been like, what the fuck, that doesn't sound like something that needs to be kept secret.

Is there a link to somewhere where all the leaks and unused and proper single's surrounding detox have been put? What are we at now like 7-8 songs? I wanna listen to them all at once in a playlist. So far I'm liking Kush and the one with Jay-Z on it.
