Half way through the album and I gotta say Pete has fallen off bad. Some of the tracks are dope but some are very so so. None of his signature sounds are in there. Smif-N-Wessun are boring me a bit too.
-
As for the second half, track 9 and 10 are clear skippers. and then the last 4 tracks are the same as the first 8, a mixture of dope or uninteresting. I wasn't feeling Stand Up Guy for the fact that Alchemist has used the sample already.
So the overall result for me is both acts have fallen off bad, nothing more than a 6/10. Seriously disappointed.

Don't take my word for it. I'm hard to please these days. Let me know what you think.

I liked Quik's album better tbh. This is a 7 out of 10. 2nd track hits but same sample as Royce Nickel Nine Is from back in the day...
-
It's alright, 8 tracks are solid.

Thats a real strange and random comparison.
-
Anyone else got an opinion on this. I want to know if I'm alone in thinking ths is a disappointment.
-
^ Honestly, it's somewhat of a disappointment. I still like about 8 or 9 songs from the album, I had medium expectations because these guys are pretty old lol.

Yer, I agree. For the amount of time it took them to make it (from early last year some time I think) the finished product was pretty average. I laughed too.

just heard the album. and it's a good one IMO.
-
As much as I hate to say it, Pete fell off a while back. His comp that he dropped in like 03 had some really good shit on it (mostly the stuff with CL), but almost everything in the last several years has been average at best, and horrible for PR standards.
I hate the lagging drum beat, rappers can't flow over that shit and it makes the song too damn choppy. Pete needs to drop some shit that flows.
-
been bumpin this alot today. its not monumental, but if it came out in 96 - itd b a classic. some of the beats goes.
the last beat, that comes in at d end on the last song with the Common-sample is the best. shame they didnt make a song out of it..
